Subeta Trivia Question

I am not asking for the answer to the trivia question. I'm just wondering if someone can give me a hint on how to go about solving it. The question is:

Maleria has put out an emergency request for all pets in subeta to find her plushie! She returned home today to find a slab of rock reading "mtelvjoblgfiudhfawebm" and a peice of paper under it reading "key: maleriaisstupid" under the rock.

I've never done something like this before and am wondering what it involves. Is it math or something? Anyways, you can post the hint here or message me. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I think you should try to solve the anagram first. There are many angram solvers on the net.
