Do you think having a deadline to pick a side of the war to be on was far? I actually am very upset by the deadline. I know plenty of people who weren't able to particiate in the war because they were on vacation or their computer was down. This is the first war -I- have ever missed and it actually really upsets me because the war trophies are some of my favorites.

What are your views on this?

Edit: I have cleared up some stuff ^^; I meant the deadline to pick a side. And as mentioned, I don't see how they could. People should be able to join in the war when they can until the war ends...

Do you mean the deadline for joining a side or the deadline for the end of the war altogether?

I didn't really see the point of the deadline for joining a side, it seemed a bit cruel to people who were away for a weekend! I don't think it would have been too difficult to allow people to join in half-way through, either. Admittedly it might have stopped people creating multiple accounts to join a side, but that's something people could do anyway. And since we didn't know the score while it was going on, there wasn't much incentive to do so!

For the war in general... it's really disappointing to miss a war, but there doesn't seem to be any other way to do it. Without a start and end to the plot, it'd just be a neverending battledome ;)

Frankly, I like the idea of putting a deadline on the war that being said I still think they need to give plenty of notice, more than this time (like allow sign-ups from first part in the plot where war is even hinted at). I also think that if TNT are going to not permit sign-ups once the war has begun they should re-design the battledome so those that didn't sign-up can still battle the normal 1-player opponents so they have something to do :)

The good thing was that it stopped people from creating new accounts to join on other sides (I bet lots would have started battling instead of supporting).
They should have given people more time to choose anyway, maybe send a neomail to everyone warning them? How difficult would that be?

Yes because it's pointless to join a war half way through. You have to join at the beginning and stay until the end. That's how acient wars were faught. No one got "drafted" or "volenteered" after the fighting had begun. It would be too late by then. And seeing as this was set in a "Pirate" era, it was fitting.

To anyone who thinks it wasn't fair, well, all I can say is the ship set sailed long ago. And besides, it's not like they didn't give you enough time to choose.

What about somebody on a vacation? I know lots of people who graduated around that time and went on a graduation vacation. Plus, there are plenty of reasons why you could start late. What if you are on that way and the war started a day before? You could still go in. I didn't notice registrations until the day later. There was no reason to do that, they should have made it last until the end.

I think setting a deadline for joining a side is fair, but they should give more warning. If they gave enough warning than there wouldn't be so many people who weren't able to participate in the war. :)

Of they want as much help as they can get, people should always be allowed to participate. There are plenty of things that let people participate once it starts, this deadline was not needed at all...

Uhm, hello, that's their fault. Not Neopets. A dead line is a dead line. They can't help it if people on vacation went on vacation for that's the users decision. You miss out, it's -your- fault.

I don't think it was fair. Even if someone did join late, they're be a disadvantage, so it'd be fair

i agree with noirraven.

Im sick of hearing the words "not fair."
Its a game. Its free. They can do whatever they want.
If you choose to go on vacation or take time off or computer was down, thats your problem.... to make it "fair" they wont slow it down for you, or make everybody else go on vacation. And sometimes, life isnt fair. :oops: They could take all your neopoints away and destroy your neopets for having a letter "R" in your username..... would that be unfair? I think not.... there isnt anything you could do about it... you didnt give them anything to get there. its fair. They give and take. :D
Thus, deadlines, too, are fair.

Of course it's fair. If not everyone would wait to see which side had weaker opponents then join the stronger side. :roll:

Yes, I know it is disappointing to come back and realise that the war has started, and you can't join. But there was ample warning and indication that a war was about to start, and if you should be prepared to miss it if you were going off for a long vacation.

I think it was a good idea.
Because if everyone had the chance to see what the war is like before signing up for a side/role,

1) it wouldn't be fair to the players who signed up before the war started;
2) people could just sign up before the very end of the war, just to be on the winning side;
3) people would pick they weakest pets to be warriors just to be rank 1 and earn more points. ;)

You couldn't even SEE The points, how would they know what's the winning side?

And still, it's not fair when they do it without a reason and the others had a longer period. -_- It's not our fault, it's their fault for not thinking of the possibilities which is what a good site takes.
