Random Event: It does not make sense

Fri Dec 31, 2004 12:59 pm

A ghost from a random event came and steal 80np from me. I have got no np on hand at that time.

Now it said that I got -80np on hand. You mean I own some ghost nps? When did that happen??

Fri Dec 31, 2004 1:07 pm

That has happened to me before. If you take 80np out of the bank it will bring your np on hand to zero. It is kinda like they are taking your np from the bank

No, you don't really 'owe' him any NP, you just have 80 less NP than before. So to have zero, you'd have to withdraw 80 from the bank.

Does that make sense?

So the ghost stole 80nps from my bank? Or did he give me a bill of 80np that I got to remember to pay him next time I go to the bank? :roflol: I dun really want to go to the bank now.

No no... You just have 80 less NP than you did. You don't owe anyone anything. Let's say you had 160np out and he stole 80, you would have 80np. But since you had 0 out, you have -80.

Wait wait wait. So what if you try and buy something from the shops? Then what happens? Does it consider the number less than zero? OR could you possibly add up your 'bill' even more?

I'm guessing it just says that you don't have enough though. Hmmm.... also, what if you offerend MINUS points on the trades. Does that mean that the person you trade with will also have to give YOU NP? :P

It simply means that you have a negative amount of np.

don't even worry about the bank.. play a flash game and you should be fine.

Nooo, don't confuse me. I just woke up, my brain hurts. X.X

But you can't buy anything from shops and go down to negative, they won't let you buy it if you don't have enough positive NP. Or else everyone here would be in debt of negative NP. (You just buy and buy and buy and never really have to go back to positive NP)
If that made any sense whatsoever. :P

okay. the sad thing was that that DID make sense...and I can just see it now. NeoCards! NeoVisa! NeoDebt, NeoSchool Loans...

*dies* everyone would have credit cards and be in debt up to their eyeballs!

wow, that would be horrible. *twitch*

There was a glitch in a game released a while ago (a beta version of Bilge Dice, i believe) that allowed you to bet negative amounts. A person made bets of negative millions, thus when he lost, he truly won millions of neopoints. After a giveaway spree, he was frozen, and the format of that game was changed.

ah yes, I remember that, he was always running around looking for games that had a glitch he could exploit to help the less fortunate, or maybe it was just because he liked doing it.. I dunno, oh well :P

I remember that and I *think* he made a post about it here... That was so clever... Too bad he and every person he gave to got frozen... That was unfair...

I had like -300 Neopoints once. Wouldn't let me send money in trades, and wouldn't let me buy anything. I played Meerca Chase and fixed it. 'Twas pretty odd.

Just go find something that'll earn you 80 NP (flash game, withdraw from bank) and you'll be good.

Let's just say you can only get negative through the ghost. Now, Happy new years!

(So random. Sorry!)
