Spending Advice

I've decided to make this thread for Neopians who aren't sure if they should invest, or save. For example: say you have only 30k at the moment but you want a Bronze short sword. You've just won 5k. Should you save up and buy it when you have the spare NP, or use the NP while you can and be on your way to becoming a battledome bigshot. Describe your problem and hopefully someone will advise you on what to do.

I'm pretty sure there's a thread for this somewhere already.. most probably in the Battledome bit, if you wanted advice about weapons.
