For Neopets ONLY discussion.

I went to log into Neopets and realized that it didn't ask me for an activation code--you know, that combo of numbers/letters in a weird type. I cleared my cookies and temp files beforehand and checked the url. I got into my account OK and all and nothing is gone.
So I am wondering is this happening to anyone else?

Hmm, you mean the security code?
*checks login page*
Wow, you're right, they did get rid of it! Probably working a new system.

Yes. I posted a topic just after you did.
..and deleted it.
I logged in at lunch and it was still there. Guess neopets is giving up after all that trouble.

Yes, I meant the security code. I have gotten so used to it, I forgot just exactly what it was called. And, I must admit I got a bit nervous not seeing it there.

Whoa... that's weird!!!
I wonder why?!?

If you look in the source, you can see that it is commented out.

they're probably reprogramming it

I doubt it. They're too lazy. They're too concerned with sponsors and the ad money that they don't care for user exploitation very much.

I have noticed another weird thing on the site today besides the security code being missing. Every so often, I would click on something on the site and a whole new window would open up. For example, I clicked on the x to take something out of my shop and instead of getting a new refreshed page showing me the updated shop list, it opened a second Neopets window. This happened to me several times this afternoon. Once when I was on the shop wiz, once when I tried to go to my guild.
At first, I thought it was my overflowing cookies/temp files, but it happened again after I cleared cookies and temp files.

That's also weird!
Maybe 5/5/5 is coming early!
Nooo.... it's the Glitch Zone.. run for the hills!
Anyway, CCY, any chance you could shrink the screenie? Tis stretching ze page a bit

This is actually quite a smart move.
Most autobuyers (and other bots) use one of two methods to log-in:
1) Read the code using an OCR scan thingy.
2) Show the code, let the user type it in.
Since the code is gone, it can do neither, and will force AB programmers to reprogram the tools, while rendering the majority useless

It's probably a quick, 20 second - compile time fix.

Useless.
