when i went to look at the calendar it says
Mar 3rd - Cancelled due to lack of interest

Go back in the news and you'll see why - they were trying to sync the neopets updates and clocks all together, and when they did, there was no news or other events on the 3rd of march. Or something very close to that.

Yes, that is correct. March the 3rd will not be happening. Basically, we are now syncing the daily content once per day, and because of all the extra things we have to do (syncing to 120 servers, translating the site), it is happening much later than usual. As a result, by the time the site syncs the actual day that news refers to is over in more than half the world. The fact that we are 8 hours behind GMT does not help that fact either.

Australians, for instance, will first hear about Uni Day (March the 2nd) at 4pm on March the 3rd, and those playing from Nuku'alofa in Tonga have it even worse!

So anyway, we will be doing the content one day in advance from now on, and then sync at midnight on the previous day. We hope you like this idea!! All the stuff that will usually go up on the 3rd will be happening on the 4th, so don't worry about missing Mystery Pic

I believe Kess is correct. Or they had some Holiday or something then, but unlikely. Most likely what Kess said.

Unfortunately, that method never worked out. Maybe they weren't able to keep up with it or something.

More likely it was an excuse for "Adam got sick from eating to much cake last night. So we dont feel like working today"

... OR it could be what Kess has already pointed out. They were trying to start a new way of syncing the site. It works occasionally... but sometimes they are still late.

So if that was their excuse for missing the news last year, whats their excuse since then.
They said they were going to post the news at 12:00am NST everyday, and sometimes its either not done at all, or its a day late etc.

It's a TNT gimmik. There is nothing negative behind it, it's not some weird scam so they can make more money... it's just, basically, there poor attempt at humour.

Besides, after the day I had today, I really wish that they had cancelled the 3rd of March!
