Account question

Recently, on the 6th March, I was hacked of my NPs and many items. Overall, it would have totalled to 3.5 million, maybe, as they took many battledome items I had, a Brown Paintbrush, and around 50 items in my SDB.

However, not all the money is mine. 2.9 million was from my guild till, as we were saving for an MSPP (some people had item collateral too, but they kept them). Anyway, many folks in my guild were accussing me of stealing the NP, I wasn't putting up with it, so I deleted the guild. Along with me, 3 other members had been hacked too. So we think we may have been cookie grabbed, keylogged or something like that.

As I deleted the guild, determined to prove I was innocent, I said I would pay back the guild members. The dilema is that I now have to pay back 3 million (although it is closer to 1 million, not everybody wanted it back as they felt I was innocent, therefore, should not need to pay them back, or not all guild members were there, as they didn't claim it when they left).

So, after this back story, to provide a background and some interest into the tale, what I would like to know is:
a) Would there be any way to be able to claim back my NP and items? 1 million is an awful lot (although I have payed back 100k, from restocking popcorn, selling codestones and faeries I found and a friend donating 52k, and have around another 100k, working on paying back a 350k donation).
b) Would there be any way for TNT to trace my hacker, and freeze them? It makes me so angry people would do such a thing, they should pay for it.
c) Ehhh, I've forgot c, I'll try and update when I remember it, I thought of it, now it's gone...

A) There is no way for you to get your nps or items back unless you're going to re-earn them or the scammer gives them back (not likely). TNT won't return anything lost in a scam/glitch/etc. Sorry.

You are responsible for keeping your account safe, so if you have given out items, Neopoints, your password, or anything else because someone told you they had a cheat, a program, a secret, or that you would suddenly have millions of Neopoints or rare items for doing so, we cannot help you.


B) TNT may be able to somehow work out who scammed you but either way you would have to submit a report. It would be much easier if you had an idea of who is was as well - maybe there is someone on your Neofriend list who wasn't there before or something.

Actually, that appears to be no longer true--at least in the case of Neopets Addict. If you check General Chat's thread "I got my account back," you can see that this account was hacked/scammed/whatever with all of this stuff given away and a certain staff member worked overtime to get all of his nps and items returned to his account.

I am not saying that it will happen in every scenario, but there does appear to be a glimmer of hope out there.

You dont know how you were hacked or scammed? I'm sure neo can trace it as well

The only way to have your stuff back is to convince TNT that you were wrongfully accessed by filling out the forms. They respond FAST to accusations of hacking and scamming. You should do NOTHING else on the account after doing the following. Change your password and your e-mail address to something completely new. If it makes you feel better, put your pets in the Neolodge and your items away.

Wait for Neopets to fix the problem.

There is still no guarantee that the items/nps will be returned. For the most part, the forms are simply for the return of your account. Those that never receive any items back far outweight those that might be lucky enough to get some help. I for one was told straight out by one of the Neopets Staff that they would not be able to assist me with the return of what I lost when I was scammed, the only thing they were willing to help return was the account itself.

wow that really stinks and I am unsure if you can get the np back, yes like neopets addict he did get everything back, maybe they can do that now.. im not sure i mean they do ask you how much neopoints you had on hand and in the bank, i wouldn't see why they wouldn't be able to check and see if you did maybe they made something to see what you have. I dunno but sometimes it's like well I don't know EVERY item i had lol me and mom went through that when we tried to get her account back she got frozen for the most STUPID thing, she was in auctions and she and another person were bidding back and forth the other person won, she neomailed them and goes.. =p thanks for stealing that from me lol jk and they reported her and they froze her! We tried to many times to get it unfroze! But atlas they never unfroze it! How unfair!
