Yay! Got the prize as well. 
It totally looked brown to me at first, so I completely missed the banner image the first time around.

I too got the prize! Thanks for the great hints. Surprisingly enough, it was stampsyne's remark about caldera's that first hinted at it's location for for me, and only after findig it did I realize what was meant by the other hint. For anyone who was wondering:
refers to the fact that Kiko Lake lies between Neopia Central (Rainbow) and Meridell (Flag) on the world map.
