Okay, for the past week or so days I've made a habit of playing the personality quiz games, as they give decent money for doing pretty much nothing, right?
Well, I was playing the "Secret scent" one, when I noticed somthing-they cut the np from it, from 300, to 150!
I don't understand why they did this...300 np per play is NOT a lot of np, and lets face it, there's a lot of newbies out their who probably airn't the best gameplayers, and simple games like this may be their main income. Why does TNT do this? It makes me kinda mad...

That's odd because a couple of the personality quizes that are still onsite go for 200 and they're much shorter than the Secret one (usually 4 or 5 questions where as the secret one is 10.)

You don't think they'll cut them to, do you? Oo;
That IS odd though...Rather inconsistent, I kinda wonder who makes the chocies on cutting or increasing the money from games, and whether they know about the OTHER games on the site...(i.e., is there more than one person adjusting the numbers?)

They've also lowered the np payout on the game Total Defence from the 100:100 ratio to a 50:100 ratio... I suppose TNT enjoys making people really work for their money, especially new players who are just starting out...

In a way I think that they are thinking something along the lines of "If they want that {insert any desirable goal} and we lower the game payouts they'll have to stay at the site longer..."

Well, TNT probably feels that people were gaining np too easily from such games, and I must say their view is justified. After all, these games require virtually no skill and after you get familiarised to the answers, it requires no thinking at all.

Yeah, but that game only gave 300 np, 900 total. How is that a lot?

so? Its still a megar amount of neopoints that might be all that someone lives off of. I hate restocking and only play games when I'm desperate for cash. Whats wrong with making a quick 900np? I thought sponser games were supposed to give out the higest payment possible... after all, the more NP it gives out, the more people play, the more the ad companies win. Its a win win situation for all.

Agreed, and I don't think that there’s anything wrong with an easy game or two that gives neopians at least a guaranteed amount of money, I mean, I dunno about anyone else here, but I have a pretty packed schedule. It's kinda nice to be able to get at least 1k a day within a few minutes, so I feel like I've *actually* accomplished something, even if I don't have any more time that day to earn some np.

I think they start sponsor games out with high payouts to get you hooked on the game-- the higher number of games played, the better neo looks to the sponsors. Then either once they submit their stats on the game to the sponsor, or just whenever they figure that people like the game enough to play it every day, they lower the payout. They probably don't want anyone to complain that sponsor games are better paying than regular ones.

If I recall the snowmuncher game used to give out more np, but they cut that. I also thought the bloat-be-gone gave 10 points, but now it doesn't give anything.
I used to score about 4k and get a good 1k per play, but now if I'm lucky enough to score 4k all I get is about 600 or 700 np per game.

The Pepsi Surfing game's payouit has been cut but 50% too. Its down to 100:100 from 200:100.

I would say 300 np per game is quite a lot for a game which requires no skill at all, especially those personality quizzes and such. You can put in a lot of effort into another game but still get less than 300np.

The point of games is that you have to put in effort if you want to gain profit. There are already plenty of avenues for newbies to start out, like the daily freebies and such. I can see why TNT thinks that giving out high amounts of np on games which require zero-effort is not really justified.

I reckon that TNT have discovered what everyone was complaining about for years - inflation.
Meh, if you wanna lower the cost of items, you lower the amount of NP in the economy. It makes sense doesn't it?
Sat Apr 23, 2005 2:27 pm
Yeah but people would then complain about the amount of NP givin out

Either way, Neopets Staff loose:P
TNT? What does this mean?
Sat Apr 23, 2005 2:31 pm
TNT means The Neopets Team

It's an abbreviation most people use.
People will complain regardless of what TNT do. You just can't please everyone.
