To worry or not to worry...

Fri May 20, 2005 1:24 am

Well, today I log into my email (which I hardly ever do over the summer) and see that for the last 5 days, someone has been requesting my password 3 times a day! I haven't the slightest clue why they'd bother requesting my password, but it still worries me a bit. Is there anything I should do, or am I relatively safe?

Hi

If you're using yahoo and it's the same as your messenger, I suggest setting up a different email that you use just for Neo. I also suggest (but I suggest this to everyone) that you not post your AIM/YIM/MSN, etc. but only give it to people you know and feel you can trust.

Change your password, take a look and be sure that your email listed is correct. Otherwise, I don't think there's much else to do.

If you'd like to try gmail, pm me, I've got loads of invites.

I've had that happen to one of my accounts, it's pretty irritating, but as long as they don't have access to your email there's nothing they can do by requesting it. They might just be some stupid person who thinks that clicking the get-password button will just display it... that's really the only thing I can think of why someone would bother doing that o_O
But yeah to be on the safe side, I recommend creating an email account solely for Neo, and don't tell anyone else about it. Tis what I did. :)

I have gotten that a few times in the past week or so, also. As a result, I have been changing my password almost daily and have changed the password and secret question on my email account. I just got an invite to gmail, so I will be moving my email address to gmail shortly. It is quite annoying. I can't tell if someone has my account name confused with theirs or if they like what they see in my shop and are, therefore, trying to figure out my email password/secret question to get into my account.
