What is up with the Esophagor lately?

For quite awhile now he's the only one who's quests I bothered to complete (Besides the random faerie quests) since he's always given out decent things to me. Then towards the end of last week he started giving out middling to cheaply priced books *every time*, which is odd since previously I'd only gotten one or two somewhat expensive books from him.

And now since yesterday he's giving out complete crud. Even worse than Edna's stuff... Woowoo grubs and grubwiches and stuff that's worth 1 np. I've never before gotten that kind of stuff from him and now it's been something like a dozen quests in a row now. Was I just exceptionally lucky before or has anyone else noticed this?

If they changed his programming recently, I'll be muchly aggrieved as the Esophagor was pretty much the only source of cheap decent items for me.

I noticed it too, actually, and also that lately he's been asking for more expensive items. I thought I was just having a run of bad luck.

Yeah, he's also been asking for a lot more expensive items for me, and I haven't gotten very good prizes either.

I did two of his quests just a bit ago...got a "Chia Journal" book on the first and a "Geirrod Sternhoof" collectable card on the second. He wanted a 50K item the third visit...so I think I am gonna let the time run out on that one.

On the other hand, I just did a quest and got a Mau Codestone for giving him a Tongue with Veggies. lol

Though codestones are a rather low rarity right (is too lazy to check, and uses dubloons)

I hate how all of the quests are less than 1 in 10 chance that I'll do them...

I haven't been asked for anything under 40k recently. Had just assumed that it was a run of bad luck.

I did two of his quests yesterday, he wanted only one super cheap item for each one, like mummy spaghetti, and I received super cheap items in return. Not too surprised really.

I got purple nail varnish and milk chocolate kiko.

I gave up trying to do his quests because he kept asking for snorkle snouts... They're way too expensive for me to afford!

I never used to bother with his quest because it was never worth it. But so many people had been reporting getting really great items from him that I started doing them. Brand new books, new petpets and A Mysterious Valentine Card to name a few.

The last item was selling for 40,000 np's a few weeks ago. I figured the price was so low because he was giving them out. But if you check today they are nearly unbuyable again. In any event he still hasn't given me any item worth more than 1,000 np's.

Spent 18k on a quest for him got a Molten Hot Chilli worth aprox. 400np decided to do another quest for him and he asked for a pumpkin pot pie worth over 100k I decided not to do that one

I never spend more than 1k on his quests (same as for Edna) and that way I overall always make a profit. Same way I never spend more than 5k on Kitchen and Snow Faerie quests
