Random events or a message?

I got a random event about the ghost lupe telling me not to go to mystery island so I went there guess what happened next, a ghost comes out of the ground robs me 100np and puts it on the money tree. I've gotten a lot of random events lately and the ghost lupe is the only thing that pops up could this be some kind of message?
