I'm new to neopets and I have a few questions

Sat Oct 15, 2005 10:46 am

Well.. I started playing neopets 2 days ago and I need some help:

1) Lab ray. After browsing through the lab ray thread in the battledome I saw a few things that worry me:

.. and he goes to level 1

Lets say I have a lvl 10 neopet, and he gets that lab ray roll, will he stay lvl 1 untill he gains a lvl or will he eventually automatically go back to lvl 10?

.. and he changes into a blue kougra

Say I have a Draik, is it possible to have my rare neopet changed into a neopet with a value of zero?

2) Trading post. How do I trade items above 800K (I believe that's the maximum value allowed.. Correct me if I'm wrong) np of value? Do I add items with a higher value which are fts? (fast trades)

3) Scratchcard kiosks. Is this actually worth the money on a cost/time equivalent base? I'm bad at Maths, you see.. :D

4) Everything else that costs money and is daily do-able. The wheels (excitment, mediocrity (sp?), etc), Buried Treasure, etc.

5) Is it allowed to create multiple accounts to play games so you can transfer the neopoints to your main account by purchasing items in your main account's store? No, I'm not talking about visiting the scratchcard kiosk/wheels/other daily events, I'm talking about the games itself (Zurroball, Cellblock, 200m Peanut Dash etc). For example; you can gain a maximum of 5K NP from cellblock. If I create another account and get 5K NP there as well and transfer it to my main account, is that legal? Or even better, is it bannable/traceable? Can it be detected?

6) What is a good guild to join?

7) What are ez koinz games? (easy to get a lot of NP from in a short time)

8) Do the PetPets actually matter? What I'm saying is, does it matter if you have a Tenna or an Ultra Combobot 2000, besides the enormous sex appeal?

9) Is it better to Lab Ray your pets or to train your pets by Dubloons/Codestones?

10) I want to get a Draik and paint it in a sexy colour. Why are they so expensive?

Thx in advance. My account on neopets is CtrlAltDe1337

EDIT: 11) What the hell is (TCG)?

1) Lab ray. After browsing through the lab ray thread in the battledome I saw a few things that worry me:

Of course he won't automatically get back to Level 10 xP

Now. Levels don't really affect your actual battledoming strengths that much. When you battle, it's mostly your Strength, your HP, your Movement and Defense, and your weapons. But to train your stats at the Academy or the Training School, you have to first raise your level. A statistic cannot be above twice your level (so if you're level 7, then each of your stats cannot go above 14 until you train your level first.)

However, through the lab ray, this is different. The lab can change your HP and strength and other stats no matter how high your level is ^^;

.. and he changes into a blue kougra

Say I have a Draik, is it possible to have my rare neopet changed into a neopet with a value of zero?

Yes. But it can also change your Draik to something with a very big value. Like maybe you get it turned Island, or Faerie. Keep in mind that even if your Draik does turn into something you don't like, the lab will always change it into something else sooner or later.

The lab is very valuable and expensive (The first time I bought it it was about 250k, for my second account 500k, don't know what the price is now,) but in the end, it's worth it ^^;

2) Trading post. How do I trade items above 800K (I believe that's the maximum value allowed.. Correct me if I'm wrong) np of value? Do I add items with a higher value which are fts? (fast trades)

I have never heard of this rule o.o But if it does exist, then you won't be able to do it, would you? :p

3) Scratchcard kiosks. Is this actually worth the money on a cost/time equivalent base? I'm bad at Maths, you see..

Uh. It's all about luck, really ^^;

4) Everything else that costs money and is daily do-able. The wheels (excitment, mediocrity (sp?), etc), Buried Treasure, etc.

Is there a question here? o.o

Or even better, is it bannable/traceable? Can it be detected?

No, that is illegal. You can only earn NP from one account. And it is 100% detectable.

6) What is a good guild to join?

There are millions. It all depends on what kind you want to join, and then look through the first few pages of every neighbourhood ... ^^; But guilds are not in any way essential, some players don't bother with them at all.

7) What are ez koinz games? (easy to get a lot of NP from in a short time)

Well, each person is good at different games. But I recommend trying Meerca Chase, Ultimate Bullseye, Volcano Run, and Whack-a-Kass.

Do the PetPets actually matter? What I'm saying is, does it matter if you have a Tenna or an Ultra Combobot 2000, besides the enormous sex appeal?

Uh. No, they don't matter. It's all about looking rich/good. They don't really do much xP

9) Is it better to Lab Ray your pets or to train your pets by Dubloons/Codestones?

I'd say lab.

10) I want to get a Draik and paint it in a sexy colour. Why are they so expensive?

Neo has millions of users. Users get addicted. Users get rich. Users buy items. Items get rare. Inflation.

Yes, the same as the above. Or is it all about luck as well? What would you do?

Well, I wouldn't advise you to play them every single day, you'll probably just end up losing more than you win ^^;

Re: I'm new to neopets and I have a few questions

My two pennies :D

1) Your level can only go down a maximum of 2 (or is it 3?) levels at a time, so you can only get "and he goes down to level 1" if two or three levels is all that seperates you from being at level 1.

Don't be zapping a draik O_O You will almost certainly lose it and it will turn into a Mynci or something. If you are zapping for whatever reasons start with a pet you don't mind species/colour changing every few days/weeks/months.

2)If you want to trade an item above 800k either add ETS items (easy to sell) or arrange a private auction. There is no np limits on auctions, the seller and buyer become neofriends and arrange a neofriend only auction so no one else can bid on it. You then arrange so that your bid brings it up to the price you want to sell at (bear in mind there is a maximum increment so you need to sort out all the details before hand).

3) Scratchcards are mostly luck, some people like blowing lots of money on icestravangza sc's but like most luck things it isn't worth it. What is worth it is buying one each day and selling it in your shop - guarenteed profit and one day you might get a great one to sell (I once got rotting riches = 1mill nps). Terror trove sc's can also raise your pets level so if you have only one pet on your account they are a handy cheap way of raising level if you codestone/dubloon train.

4) Do all your dailies, overall you will make a profit. I used to keep a table of my overall profit/loss but I got bored xD I did make a profit though - also do all the quests! Snow faerie, kitchen, esophogar and edna - if you set yourself limits (eg 5k for snow faerie & kitchen, 1k for esophogar, 500nps for edna...) then you can make a nice profit out of them.

9) Either way is fine it depends what you are after. The lab is the cheapest way to train but you will have unbalanced stats (high hp, medium strength, very low defense) and a level that is too low for you ever to train with codestones/dubloons later. With codestones/dubloons you will pay more nps but will have more control over your stats (reaching certain stat boosts, having strength and defense equal etc). Both ways are fine, it really depends on what kind of weapons you want to have and if you mind what your stats are like - some people do, some people don't =)

10) Well Draiks can't be created like most of the pets being limited, so like other limited/restricted pets you need a transmog - inflation as said. The transmogs are given out in random events so demand is much higher than supply.

11) TCG = Tradable Card Game, the tcg cards on site are the same pics I think as the ones you can buy in real life. I'm not to sure though, all I know is they are way hts items :)

Thx all :)

What do Job Coupons do (what are they good for?)?

Sat Oct 15, 2005 4:19 pm

You use job coupons doing jobs in Faerieland. I've never done it so I don't know much about it but I think when you do a job your coupon is downgraded to the next level, and you can earn nps.

http://www.neopets.com/faerieland/employ/employment.phtml There's the link as I really don't know much about it or whether it is worth it but I'm sure someone else will :)

At the trading post, saying a user ignores my offer, how long till I get my offer back?

You don't get it back until either they reject the offer or you withdraw the offer.

Jade em and Trick gave great answers to all of your other questions. But, I have to emphasize what Jade em said. Don't use more than one account to get your freebies and play the games. I have seen too many people frozen for it and, really, it isn't worth the risk. If you have more than one account and need to transfer nps over to feed pets, then put something in that account's shop for an overinflated price and have your main account buy it.

And, I need to emphasize one thing that Trick said as well. Do your dailies every day. Because overall, you do make more than you spend. However, there are a few I skip because I have found through experience that they don't pay. So, I avoid the Wheel of Knowledge, Test Your Strength, Bagatelle, Coconut Shy and Wheel of Misfortune. However, I do all of the other ones.

And, do all of the quests (esophagor, witch, food dude, snow faerie) as long as they seem cost beneficial. My limits are a bit lower than Trick's, but the key is to set a limit. Do the quest if the item asked for is less. Don't do the quest if the item asked for is more. But, be sure to go back after the deadline to ask for another one.

One more thing, about the games. Check out the pet page for My_First_Little_Pony. That user has links to all of the games that can currently be played. Sponsor games give out great nps for the amount of time taken to play the game. Figure out which ones you are good at, make a list of those, and play them whenever you get a chance. It is easy to make 15-20 in 1-1/2 to 2 hours time playing sponsor games.

If you have any more questions, ask away.

I have a Lemon Swirly Negg in my shop for quite some time. I've checked the shop wizard multiple times and 11997 is the best price for it. All the other ones sell it for 13K. Yet the Lemon Swirly Negg hasn't been bought yet while my codestones are traded within 3 minutes. The same goes for Gallion Stamps. They seem hard to trade.

Is it better to Auction them or offer them at the Trading Post?

EDIT: Terror Mountain 1.1~#.# WC Piece <-- What are these good for and why are they so valuable?

The key to selling items is to be the lowest of all shop wiz lines. Just because you are at the top of your shop wiz line doesn't mean the item will sell. I sell neggs and actually the going price right now for a lemon swirly negg is about 11799. All of the big negg dealers are at 11999 or less. So, I don't know where you are seeing the 13K.

And, some things sell faster than others. Codestones, bottled faeries, cheap food, and quest items sell fast. As long as you are among the cheapest on the shop wiz lines. So do the plainer neggs, like icys, brown, purple. The fancier neggs, like the lemon swirly, sell as well, just not as fast. Stamps take longer to sell.

I don't ever use the TP or auctions to sell items that can be sold in my shop. The shop is much faster. And, I only use the TP for things that cost more than 99999.

Rules of Scarab 21:

There are many special moves that you must find on your own, and they are well worth it. While some only offer points (although quite a few points), other special plays will clear all of your columns, which extends the game and allows you to score even more points

Where can I find the special moves? Thx in advance.
