Meuka Question?

I just got Meauka as a challenger and I want to beat him for the Defenders of Neopia trophy. I have heard that he is really hard to beat and I was just wondering if anyone here has beaten him and can tell me how high there pets stats where when you beat him, or what kind of items you had a eqipped to your pet? I am just wondering if I should keep training my pet at the training school before I even attempt to fight him in the battledome. I hope this makes sense!
