Possible Altador Map?

Tue Feb 28, 2006 5:07 am

You guys may want to check this out...

An unreleased Altador E-Greeting showed up on the servers, but I'm not pointing this out because the fact it's unreleased....... but there is a pretty detailed map on this thing!

which gets me pretty excited. I've always wanted a greek/roman/gladiator world... something that could be a city primary built on battledoming or something! Even though I dont battledome, a gladiator thing would be cool, and not only does this have a roman theme, but the whole "Grarrl Gladiator" thing has gotten some hype lately.

Mainly, i wanted to point out the fact that i highly doubt TNT would go to all that trouble making such a cool picture JUST for a greeting card.... or even a background. That's GOT to be the map! Plus, it be very logical for a map.... it has:

-multiple little buildings for places to go like markets and shops and such...
- a colloseum for.... who knows what TNT has up there sleeve.
-golden statues everywhere, possibly representing the 7 guardians..oorrr however many there are.... theres one an inch above the colloseum that looks like the grarrl gladiator and the obvious one on the bottom sort of looks like that lupe king altador dude...
-a big island thats somewhat seperated which is good for placing junk later on....
-most of all, DETAILS. they rarely go to this extent for anything but what its initially used for.... a map!

Interesting find. That would make a good map for the the new world. That does look like a fun world with many possiblities. With the city extending to the back, they have plenty of room for an acropolis and other structures.

Sure looks fun! :)

Oh, I hope this is Altador, because it's gorgeous! I never even thought about a Roman-type world, but it really is an awesome idea with so many possibilities. There could be a new paint brush, new battledome weapons, maybe even new battledome features... now I can't wait for the Altador reveal!

Wow... I wasn't expecting much for the Altador world, but that is AMAZING! I'm absolutely thrilled about that, and I hope that's what it looks like. I've always been a huge fan of ancient Greece, and Mediterranean stuff.

yeah, im not just excited about this, im extatic! (thats a word, right?)

I've always envisioned worlds:

-A machine world (not a grundo planet, not a space station, but a big mechanical city made for the soul purpose of making more machinery, which is secretly run by sloth.... could have cool robot battledome challengers (and robot lazers and gears or other cool weapons) some connection to your pet being robot (whether it helps your pet BECOME robot or just displays the pets that can be robot) maybe a shop that sells robots that help out in your neohome.... or maybe a cyborg paintbrush or something. Eh. Thought its a good idea.

- A gladiator world based on the battledome... not 100% battledome, but a gigantic greek city where a big colloseum is in the heart of the city for some huge battledome world challenge or something... and it have really expensive but nice weapons, maybe a training school or wussy domb for week pets.... greek and roman foods based on olives, bread, fish, etc.... and cool things going on like a shrine with golden statues for top battledomers or something.... who knows, but its like a roman battledome city. I guess altador is as close as im going to get.... but im satisfied :)

- Swamp world (which sounds like we'll be getting a mini-world of soon)

- a chromium/wierd element world... kind of like jelly world, but its a world based of some cool organic material thats like a metal, but its chewable or something, so they can make food out of it, and clothes and houses, but at a certain temp they can swin in it... or.. i dont know. I just picture "super mario 64" where mario gets the chrome cap. that'd make a sweet world.

-and last is a special world i wont note now.... because actually, ive been drawing a little map of a roman world in my free time, but i might save that for later since there WILL be one. Instead now, im working on this other much cooler one which ill post in the art gallery later.... but its tiny :) (but no, smudgeoffudge, its not cell/micro-organizm world  )

TOGA TOGA!

I love this. I really want to see a toga like paint brush!

I think maybe the colosseum-type structure will be the "headquarters" for flash/world challenges. There's a picture from it in the flash challenges section of the site:

They are lacking a "base" right now. It would be kinda neat... though I'd rather have more battledome-type stuff.

We just finished reading Julius Caesar in English class, and we watched these movies and stuff... the ancient Roman world was fascinating. It would be awesome if they worked in a plot that had some actual historical significance.

I would rather Altador to be more Greek than Roman. Sure it would be like Brightvale, all devoted to knowledge, but they can have some fun with the Greek design: have their warriors designed like the Spartans; Dionysian style dancers and actors; Athenan philosophers; and of course something cool devoted to the great Odysseus (no reason, he is just my favorite). Except for the colosseum, it already looks like a nice Greek city.

Oh well. Either way, the world still looks cool. Can't wait.

I can't wait for the paintbrushes to come out for that!

Reminds me more of Market Town (and it's by the coast) from the PS2 game. Although Altador does have a stadium ;)

I'll see if I can find some screenies.

They'd probably cost like 1.5 million in the Hidden Tower.

Quite honestly, not too many people can pick out differences in architecture, clothing style, etc because they were so intermingled. Greco-Roman anything would be nice. As far as the greeting goes, it just looks like they stretched out the image for the Altador TCG for the bg. They might use it for the final map, but I think it's a bit crammed together in that perspective.

I don't care. If the pets come out looking anything like King Altador or Florin, it'll be so worth it.

Huggles, I was thinking the same thing. But it does make sense that they'd base the map of that TCG card.

I think that map is already right here:

But of course you have to remember that maraqua city turned out to be nothing like the glittering promise we'd hoped for.
