... frozen ... :(

Mon Aug 16, 2004 3:50 pm

Well, it's happened to me. My account, blook288 has been hit by the freeze ray.

"This account was found to be posting inappropriate messages (ie: bad language, insults, chain letters, etc.) on the message boards, guild boards, or other site areas."

It's just so great. :( Especially because I haven't been online all weekend. That's right. Naturally, I'm able to post horrible things in the chatboards and other stuff while I'm at a family reunion all weekend and don't have access to a computer.

Stupid Neopets. I want my account back. :(

Aww, poor thing! This happened to me exactly a year and a day ago.

There's only one thing you can really do to get your account back: keep trying. Over. And. Over. Does anyone have a collection of the best people to email this to? I remember one staff member is very helpful and quick in replying, but who?

Should I use the stupid report form or go directly to email for the first time I email them?

Edit: :o Only 300 character allowed in the form where you type in why you should be unfrozen?!? What the heck. That's like nothing at all. :(

Here are the staff member emails that I have:

mailto:adrian@support.neopets.com
mailto:vipada@support.neopets.com
mailto:william@support.neopets.com
mailto:artcha@support.neopets.com
mailto:andrea@support.neopets.com
mailto:carmen@support.neopets.com

I like Artcha, myself :) GOOD LUCK and I'm so sorry you were frozen in such a painfully unfair way :(

Did you go to the board before that weekend trip? Can you recall any conversations?

Mon Aug 16, 2004 4:38 pm

Use the "contact us" link first, before emailing staff members directly.

Once a staff member contacts you, even if by an auto-response, you should begin to work solely with that staff member via direct emails. Remember to be calm and collected, explain your position and why you could not possibly have been involved in whatever it is you were frozen for.

If that fails, I suggest snail-mailing them after about a month. Be patient - this could take a while.

Shapu is right--it's gonna take sometime, but I know of some possible situations for this kind of event.

-Do you have any siblings? If so, do they have access to your account and like getting you into trouble?

-Friend who would do this?

-Anyone on the site know your password?

Think about all the people that you know who may of been able to cause the incidents which led to your freezing.

it'll take awhile regardless of what you tell them, but don't be overly cold with them. It can be said for anything that being nice always helps get what you want.

Goodluck with getting your account back.

just very recently, an user in bd chat had the same situation as yours. he emailed bryan and got his account back quickly. i think your case is quite optimistic. good luck!

Same thing happened to me. Though I was on the boards at the time. First time I went on in ages and that happens. Said I'd continually broken rules after warnings. The only warning I had was for posting off-site url and I'm sure I sorted it (It was just something like ::kraftwerk.de:: on my pets lookup X_X

I hope you have luck in getting it back. I've done the frozen form. I'll leave it a while and then try what Shapu said about the contact us link. I'm not holding my hopes up. But I can try :( I want VirtualMetal back!

Some vengeful New Member probably did it. o_O I mean when you report people you can make there messages say ANYTHING.

Of course the guy I reported for typing his warning out for saying sexual things STILL isn't frozen....same with the person with yaoi on there userlookup.... and yet innocent people get frozen!

Must eat New Member! :O

I actually don't think it's as easy as that. The message they report has to at least be breaking the rules to some extent.
To check this I reccomend you email support. I did and grace mailed back saying I was warned for saying "Ebay" in a neomail. This was the "off-site link" O_O I know, weird...

Then I think, but I don't remember at all. I may have posted "Right I'm off, Ebay time!" on my board last night. I know I wrote it somewhere. That could be why I got iced. Typical eh.

Yeah, you can get iced/warned for the strangest things....

I once got warned for having a contest on the NeoBoards. I posted something like "whoever posts here and has the best siggy gets a free Krawk Goodie Bag!" Then it got deleted because they said I was scamming... I had to give the Krawk Goodie bag to some random guy...

Awww. *big hug* Good luck getting it back. I'm so sorry. :(

My dad offered to call them to verify that I was actually away. Do you think it will do anything? Should I wait a couple of days first?

Also, their phone number is (888) 200-8090 right?

Mon Aug 16, 2004 11:13 pm

No. Take action immediatly. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to get your account back.
