Well, it happened. Yes, I just lost a pet in a transfer. In particular, a Yellow Cybunny named Remy_Buxaplenty. It was around 12:00 at night EST. I had two browsers open. I put him in the pound, and immediately searched for him. There he was, unadopted, to my relief. I swiftly clicked on him. There were the words every pet transferrer dreads:
"Terribly sorry, this pet already has an owner and is very happy"
Panic rushed through me, but I calmed myself down enough to search for him. It appeared he had been adopted by someone named sunshinecake. I sent them a Neomail, calmly explaining my situation, and asking nicely if they would consider putting him back in the pound, and that I was sorry for any inconvenience. I didn't hear back from them. After a while, I sent them another Neomail. Nothing.
Before I explain the next part, let me tell you that I had prepared myself for something like this long before I had put Remy in the pound. I had a notice in his pet lookup that he was currently in a transfer, and if someone would accidentally adopt him, to Neomail me. Also, on his petpage was, at the bottom, in big bold red letters, "THIS PET BELONGS TO IAMMARTINREDWALL!" (which is an account I had made in a haste on Cybunny Day two years ago, when I adopted him and three others [one is currently a Purple Poogle though]).
Well, I checked Remy's lookup and petpage. The person must have been smart; they had deleted everything I had wrote that would tie him to me.
But I
had made screenshots of him in Quick Ref, the note on his petpage, and his lookup. I have put them on my other Cybunny's petpage
http://www.neopets.com/~Timmy___Turner and have Neomailed this person with that fact.
I know they are under no obligation to return him to me, but it still makes me very angry that someone would act so rude when I was kindly asking if they would give him back. They could at least
reply, even if they aren't planning to help me. I mean, it's not as if I was saying something like,
"Oh my gosh! You liek stol muh pet! Giv him bak or else!"
