guys...i have a problem.

Tue Sep 07, 2004 12:45 am

that problem is my ridiculous, obsessive, irrepressible addiction to neoquest ii. school starts tomorrow. and i just know that once i finish it on normal, i'm going to start it on evil, and onto insane, until i get a gold trophy and some valuable items.

and it's not just the items. the game is just so damn FUN.

help me, fellow PPTers. how do i break this addiction, nay, obsession? at least give me tips on how to cut down when skoo starts.

Turn off your computer, and watch TV or something. :P

Only play on the weekends, or you can play once you get ALL of your homework and chores done (if you have time afterwards).

but my computer will always be on, because i'm a writing major and i need to type all the time.

and TV is boring. :P

So, you can disconnect your internet as long as it won't affect anyone else in the house that needs it. Therefore, whenver you open up IE/Netscape/Mozilla/whatever browser you use the page won't load and you'll go back to work.

And yes, TV is boring.

If you have to be online, find some way to "hide" the browser icons (bury it in a mess of folders on the desktop) so it's no easily accessable.

I was and still am affected by your problem. What I do is play till my eyes hurt reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaallllllllly bad. Then you won't want to get that feeling again so you tone down on your playing. I also suggest just staying away from your PC as much as you can. NQII can really take over your life. Believe me. I have beaten it twice.

I had the same problem for a while. Here's the easiest solution-don't play it for a week. I'm serious. Stop playing, and don't touch the game for a week, no matter how much you want to play. After about the third day your desire to play should wane significantly. It would also help to completely leave neo for a week, but that's optional.

Lose on InSaNe! to Terask Reborn. XD

I used to have an obsession to Ragnarok Online. Luckily the server died so I stopped. But when I felt I was playing too much, I just forced myself to not play it. PPT helped me do that. :battar:

Find an interesting book to read, which will keep you glued for hours... but that would create another obsession, wouldn't it? :P

I had the same problem. Unlike you I was afraid to play evil (I acually have gotten up to Zombom's tower, but he's lethal and I'm not continuing), so I'm not. Find something even MORE ADDICTIVE to get hooked on ^.^

Ban yourself from going to that URL.

Heh, when I had my Neoquest II addiction, I only played anywhere around 10 PM to midnight. Considering that I live in the PDT timezone, that works out rather well- it loads faster at that time. Kinda gave me a motivation, don't play while it's slow. And all I had to do to get off was to play until my eyes hurt.

(But of course, this won't really work if you live in a completely different time zone...)

I haven't even played Neoquest I before, let alone Neoquest II. Are they very very fun? It seems a tad boring having to move your blumaroo step by step throughout the map. However, the prizes are quite tempting, and everyone is saying how addictive it is...

i completed neoquest I but haven't bother with neoquest II. i am a great fan of RPGs but somehow the idea of refreshing for every few steps you make and the lack of an in-game map doesn't appeal to me. what i am going to advise is if you are addicted, just keep playing it over and over again until you get sick of playing the game.
