Restocks in the Dead Zone

Thu Sep 09, 2004 9:00 am

Right, it's... 6:30 pm here, and I just spent an hour in front of the computer. In the Meridell Food Shop. Refreshing every minute.

And there was one restock.

I didn't miss ANY minutes. And...this just sucks. How are people in countries like this meant to restock if there aren't any restocks to buy things in.

ARGH!!

>.<;;

mutter mutter mutter...I just want a Draik...an nice, dragonny Draik. ::sniff::

If you refreshed continuously for 1 hour without stopping, how could you not get restock banned? I think you must have missed out some minutes... and in addition, neopets is unavailable now, isn't it?

You only get restock banned if you refresh 3 times in 5 seconds. I only refresh on the minute, when the restock occurs.

And Neopets is up for me.

Do the stores restock on the minute? I thought they could restock on any random second... but I may be mistaken.

Unless it's been changed recently, restocks happen on the minute.

And speak of the demons...lag again....and it was going so well too...I just want a Draik. >.<;;

I even have a clock synched to neopets so I can get in on the second exactly.

...And I wonder if TNT are ACTUALLY doing anything about making Draiks easier to get today...I've seen nothing but downtime since the news went up.

Meridell food shop isn't on the minute. Since I haven't been rsing lately, I forget which second it's on though.

there might just be so much competition that you're too slow to even see the restocked items, let alone get them :(

No, because I've been watching the count of the more common items there that never get sold out (like stale bread, tomatos etc) and the item never rose in the four that I was surveying to indicate a restock had happened at any time.

This isn't the first time I've noticed this...I've sat in the toy shop for hours between 12 and about 5 NST and there have been considerably less restocks. I think it's kind of unfair to international players.

Does anyone know what second Merifoods restocks on then?

I think it's all programmed, there's no such thing as the shops restocking less after 12 midnight or anything like that, at least none that I've noticed.

Well, I'd like them to prove me wrong about it, but I've emailed them about it and never got a reply. Which was pretty much what I expected, but it would have been nice to get a simple "yes we do" or "no we don't" from them.

Oh great, and now I think I've been restocked banned...and I was being so careful too. Not that we get TOLD when we've been RS banned... things just stop. A little note on the page would be nice... especially if it had a countdown to the time that we'd be let buy again too.

Once again, I've suggested that to TNT and gotten no responce. Do they really care that little about us?

Well, if you really really want a draik egg, I guess you could buy one at the Trading Post. You can try restocking at shops with less competition and slowly build your way up to the 2 mil needed. On a 256kbps modem you can earn over 100k per day if you are hardworking.

Restocking what, exactly? I've tried restocking and given up in frustration after what I get either never sells or sells at a loss for me. I've also run into the problem that when I'm able to be online it's at the aforementioned "dead zone" of the restocking world and I can go for an hour with a shop only being restocked once.

I use the abovementioned modem, and I earn 50k a day from restocks, but that's because I only spend an hour or two doing it. If you can afford to spend the whole day doing it (like you mentioned in your earlier posts), you should be able to earn much more. It all depends on your technique, speed and where you restock. For example, if you only refresh on the minute, you are unlikely to get any good items, since the shops do not restock on the minute (if it were that easy everyone would be millionaires).

Hallelujah, I haven't been RS banned. Qanda, any suggestions for restocking to try and get to the 2 million needed? Thanks for your help...

I'm not really a veteran restocker, considering that I've only really started restocking last week (school holidays)... anyway, the main shops (food shop, bakery, toy shop) restock the most often and they restock a lot of things each time. However, don't expect to strike gold since most of the items you can get will give you profits of only about 2k-10k, depending on your luck. For me, if I can earn an average of 5k from each restock (which is about every 10 minutes), I'm doing fine. The toy shop does restock unbuyables, but I've never managed to get one.

If you go to the shops in other worlds (like petpet shops, meridell food shops, virtupets space station), you must have a very fast modem, since the stakes are higher (these shops restock unbuyables), and the more richer neopians go there to restock. Richer neopians tend to have cable modem (in fact find me someone with more than 5 mil NP who isn't on cable). That's why you are unlikely to get anything there.
