Sept./Oct. Neopets Magazine

Sun Sep 12, 2004 12:53 am

The new issue came in the mail today. There wasn't anything about NeoSchools in it, as promised in the last issue, so I guess they really were put off. :( Also, there wasn't a plushie guide. How is a plushie collector supposed to know what is coming up if they won't publish a guide in every issue? :( The editorial sucked as well. It was answered just like the one inthe NT. "Has this item been released?" "Can this petpet have more colors?" More of the regular. Nothing really special. This issue was centered around pirates. Here is the table of contents:

Features
A Pirate's Life for Me (a story about pirate ships)
Neoboards - What they are and how to use them.
Top 10 Pirate Items - If you want to be a real swashbuckler, you'll be needing some of these!
Swashbuckling Adventures - The Grand Tales of Yerik the Pirate Lupe
Character Guide to Krawk Island
Hasee Bounce - Hop 'Til You Drop!
Keys to Creating a Successful Guild - Ever wondered what all the fuss was about?
10 Signs Your Addicted to Neopets Is your homepage set to http://www.neopets.com? Watch out . . . that's only the beginning . . . (and yes, that typo is there in the magazine, it should be "you're" not "your")
What Makes a Yurble a Yurble? - A spotlight on Neopia's newest addition
How to Draw Cap'n Threelegs - It's time to learn how to draw that generous chap, Cap'n Threelegs!
It's All in Your Name - A Guide to Kreludan Mining Corp.
A Right Royal Affair - Why not make your Neopet look like the prince or princess they really are?
Can You Brave the Pirate Caves? - Hannah and the Pirate Caves offers exciting gameplay and creative game-building elements.
A Day in the Life of a Neopian Shopkeeper! - How I Made Over 10,000 Neopoints in One Day! (Is it just me or does anyone else not see how that is such a big accomplishment? O.o)
Beach Volleyball Bonanza! - Having fun in the sun . . .
Jamba Juice (a Neopets/Jamba Juice advertisement)
The Ghost Ship (a story)
Your Island Awaits! A pictorial look at the new Mystery Island TCG series.
A Pirate in the Sky (a story)

Departments
Editor's Note
The Editorial
Neopets Collectables Corner (which is only one page and doesn't say much of anything, let alone pictures of new items -.-)
Neopets TCG Secrets
Marketplace

Fun & Games
Neopets Art Gallery
Neopets Poster
Contest: Win a Set of Mystery Island TCG.

The 10 Signs Your Addicted to Neopets was funny. I have about half the symptoms. ;) lol The pictures of the TCGs were nice, as well. Thw winner of the art contest was *awesome*. The rest of the magazine was basically just fluff. I didn't really see anything useful. The game codes were widely known as well. Nothing surprising. Not really any new information. If you are a collector, I'd say to get it because the pictures are nice and such, but if you are looking for anything new, don't bother. There was also more non-Neopets advertisements in this issue than in any of the previous ones. Is it just me or are these issues filling up with more and more large page advertisements, big pictures, and stories, and less useful information?

Is it just me or is most of the magazine based on Pirates? Is it for 'National Talk Like A Pirate Day'? Also, I don't think that's a spelling error, "you're" is short for, "you are" and "your" is simply "your". The context which the word "your" was used in is appropriate. I may be wrong, if so, correct me.

It should be You're... 10 Signs You Are Addicted To Neopets... Your shows ownership, like, "Isn't that your ice cream"... So it should be You're. :P

Is you are makes no sense.
Is your isn't a spelling error.

It should be "10 Signs You're Addicted to Neopets". A typo is not merely when something is spelled wrong. Something is called a typo when it is typed wrong. Using one word where another should be used is a mistake in typing, therefore it is a typo.

Nope, sorry. The royal pairs shown are: Aisha, Cybunny, Gelert, Kougra, Scorchio, Uni, and Zafara. The two page article just shows the different pictures of the painted pets (male and female) and has little blurbs describing the outfits. Not really useful except for the pictures. :)

I keep wanting to right click on the pictures in the magazine to get their image links and show some here. Talk about addicted to Neopets. ;) lol

Oh, I wasn't talking about the title. I was referring to the line "Is your homepage set on http://www.neopets.com?". Sorry for the confusion.

Well, it showed the pics of the male and female forms, then it said:

Gelert

This regal Gelert may look familiar to TCG collectors. He is wearing the same clothes as in the Gelert Prince card, down to the shining golden crown and fur trimmed cloak.

The female Gelert's outfit is mainly salmon pink with strings of pearls around her hat and neck. Her trademark long ears are smoothed inside her headdress, then curl downwards along her back.

The article is like a fashion show. ;) lol

Coolies. :3 I love the Royal Male Gelert. Pretty pretty pretty... *hugs him* ^____^

Now if only I could afford a Royal Paint Brush... X__X

Aw, it's a pity that the Royal Acaras didn't make it in. Maybe they're too cool for it, yo!

I did write a description up for the Royalboy Acara, although it does seem to be a bit more in-depth than those for the Royal pets in the magazine:
When you paint your male Acara with the Royal Paint Brush, he will turn into a regal, sophisticated prince. He will be adorned in a lovely purple coat lined with gold trim, as well as gain a stole of cream coloured spotted fur. He will wear blue and red striped pants, and a crown of gold, sapphires and rubies will be upon his head. But the most important part of this astonishingly adorable fashion statement will be the gold ring on his finger, which he can flash and show off. Overall, it's a very stunning and quite attractive and handsome look.
