I'm such an idiot! I lost my new poogle!

Sun Sep 26, 2004 7:43 am

I created a new poogle with a beautiful name a few days ago, and tonight I decided to transfer her to my new gallery account. I made so many mistakes it's mind-boggling:

I left the mazzew attached!
I thought I had plenty of NP, but I didn't!
Once I got the not enough np message instead of snatching it back with my original account, I wasted time withdrawing from my shop till in the other account!

The good news is that she went to a verteran neopian with other expensive painted pets and loads of trophies. She's also a council member in her adult neopian guild. Looks like she'll be well cared for. The bad news is that my daughter helped me create her, and she was so excited because she chose the name which was a lovely Hawaiian name with special significance to us both.

I can't believe what a sick feeling I have in my stomach over a silly little pixel! But I guess those silly little pixels are why we're here, right?
:(

I'm curious to hear from other people who have lost pets in transfer if they've ever had any luck getting them back. I sent her a very nice neomail explaining what happened and even offering her another extra poogle I have that I was going to zap. Big surprise -- no response. **sigh**

Ouch, I'm sorry to hear that. :( Poogles are rare, so I doubt that the other person would give it back to you, even if you offered another one.

I'm sorry :9 I once lost Radical_Blues, AND she had a Scoutn Unit worth 30k attached :( AND she was painted christmas...over 100k lost. The guy who has it now looks pretty darn poor, with no painted pets (exept Radical_Blues), and a new account. Looks like she won't be into some good care :(

Ouch, I'm sorry to hear that. Strangely enough, I too lost a Poogle today trying to transfer her to someone. According to the person I was trying to transfer to, her computer was too slow -- the person who got the Poogle blocked her. :/

I'm so sorry about that :(
I know how you feel. I lost a Cybunny named Remy_Buxaplenty earlier this month when I was trying to transfer it to my main account. Someone grabbed it up within five seconds! The person who got it was a newbie and wouldn't or couldn't reply to my Neomails. Eventually they were actually frozen for cheating on the flash games, so I guess my poor Cybunny is stuck in ice forever now.

My desert Aisha is now a fire Draik. Tho I didn't lose her, I gave her up.

Ugh, such sad tales! I fortunately have never lost a pet, but I sympathize with those of you who have. It's sad that so many people are unwilling to return pets. Even though there really isn't a way to be sure that you are really the pet's proper owner, it's just a picture to them, it's a theft to you. I know I'd return the pet, even though I never adopt them, if I did and someone asked for it I'd give it to them.

Awww... :( I'm sorry you lost your Poogle. I've been lucky enough to never lose a pet, *knocks on wood* but I can't imagine how I'd feel if I did. It's a shame that we have to risk losing pets in attempts to switch them to other accounts... :(

:(, i lost my Baby Aisha once, transferring it to another account -- lost it. the person who got her said that SHE created her and that SHE painted her and gained ALL her levels

I think she can be pretty confident that I was the original owner. I neomailed her immediately and explained what happened and told her what the name means in Hawaiian. I even have screenshots of where I was searching for that name in the pound, and another of the quick ref screen with Inoke and my other pets. But she'll never see them because she won't answer me.

I'm like you. I would definitely give it back if the person could offer some evidence that it was theirs. In real life and neopets I really do try to treat people like I want to be treated. I once found a mispriced item for 90 np that was selling for 90K. The kid neomailed me right away -- he must have just been pricing it. I gave it back because he was really new, and obviously very young. I warned him to be careful in the future because he had encountered one of the few neopians who would give something back.

I would do the same as you too. I don't usually adopt from the pound too much, unless I'm going to foster a pet or something. However if I did pick up a pet that someone claimed was theres, I'd listen to them. If they had proof I'd put it back in the pound, because I'd want someone to do the same for me...

I'm a veteran foster parent and have successfully transferred more pets than I can imagine. I have also lost them ...

Twice I lost pets was able to get them back, thanks to some wonderful Neopians. But until I did I was sick with fear. They were a Starry cybunny and a Halloween Ixi.

I lost my Desert Poogle years ago in a transfer and although the girl agreed to give him back the account was abandoned before we ever managed to get online at the same time to do the transfer.

I am so surprised that this person will not even reply to you, especially as they are grown up and not a little annoying kid. I think things like that mess up Neopia. I mean why not give the pet back - she means so much to you and nothing to her?

....Kokiri_Amarillo...

She was a Green Uni. I put her in the pound to make a Cybunny. I didn't take the time to transfer her first. So shes gone. Forever. I feel so stupid to this day. I miss her.

Then I froze the account that used to be her home about a few months ago. I didn't like the username anymore.. I wish I could have atleast given my other pets homes first. Man, I am stupid.

ERROR : Sorry, nothing with the name 'kokiri_amarillo' exists. Please try again!

Another time I froze my dads account with a Blue Flotsam because he no longer played. Mom told me I should because it was on his work computer. I dunno. I should have said no because for night after night I layed in bed and cried. Feeling guilty because I never even told dad and he was a part of me..

Anyways, I am so sorry for your loss. Atleast she will have a nice home.

Me too, I lost one in transfer last night. I was sending it to my lab account. At least it wasn't painted...
