Art Gallery Pic?

Tue Oct 05, 2004 2:04 am

I thought we used to have a sticky for this kind of thing, but I couldn't find it. Anywho. . .Look at this weeks Art Gallery pic entitled "Baby Grarrl On Grarrl Day! by sarah_i_yahoo_now. The picture itself says http://www.suta-raito.com ! So does anyone know if the person who entered it actually drew it? I have my doubts! :x

Good catch, star. A lot of people tend to steal from there. Probably a good bet it's stolen. I'll go check it out...

Doupt they drew it. Should report it.

Hey, VAL! How ya doin'?

I just wrote to the person from suta-raito to see if that was them or not. I don't want to report anyone if they didn't steal it!

I was just thinking of doing the same thing, mailing the webmaster. :)

Looks stolen to me though....but I can wait. ;)

Wonder how these things always slip through to the art gallery? I mean, the beauty contest I can understand...so many entries being submitted it would be tough to control all the stolen work. But the Art Gallery? Those aren't like the BC, they're supposed to be hand picked by TNT, (and the winners do get some GREAT prizes!). O_o I would think they would be a little more observant on some of the entries. *shrug*

No it wasn't her, look:

From here: http://www.suta-raito.com/WOS.shtml
I will NEVER submit pictures from Suta-Raito into the Art Gallery or Beauty Contest. If I ever enter the beauty contest, I will make sure to post it on S-R so you all know...and so that I get some votes of course. xD

I'm almost 100% certain that this is a theft. I don't think the maintainer of Suta-Raito would enter the Art Gallery with one of the pictures directly off of her website. It's a wonder it got in with the link to suta-raito.com right on the image

It's things like this slipping through the art gallery that make me question submitting things... I've just finished pencilling a picture for Eyrie day (yes, a bit late I know, but :p) but despite that I get compliments from people and other artists, most of the time my images (and a lot of other people's I know are worthy) don't get picked.

It makes me wonder whether they just have a nice program that picks a certain number out of all the emails. It sounds typical, with all the other things they do and deny (freeze bots etc).

Sigh...

It's definetely a stolen pic from suta-raito! The owner of the site is in my guild, and she said she would only enter the Picture competition with her main account!! I'm going to report the stealer now...

Prettymagik is the owner of S-R.
She does enter the gallery but not with pictures directly from her site.

I think that it does LOOK like a Jelly Krawk. I really like it. SOme people are so talented :D while others are not ... stealing art is like you are not even trying. :(

It does look like the user was frozen for this, but it still disappoints me that they kept the image in the gallery.

I'm glad they froze her. I'm ONE HUNDRED PERCENT POSITIVE that it was stolen. Eevee1 is a friend of mine, as I practically LIVE at her Advanced Oekaki, and I KNOW that the picture was stolen. On my Jellicle honour, I swear that there have been more pictures stolen from her than any other Neopian. ._o; It's a horrible shame and is disgusting. As much as I love and defend the Team, I've got to say that they pay NO attention to us Neopian artists. You have no clue how many people have left Neopets because of the waves and waves of art theft.
