Is this a mistake or a scam?

Fri Oct 22, 2004 8:37 pm

I've been playing Neo for going on 4 years now, and with the recent burst of freezings I decided to reduce my accounts from 5 to 2 (main acct and gallery acct). Before I deactivated the accounts I adopted out most of my pets and transferred my absolute favorites to my main account.

Today I transferred the last of my favorite pets to my main account. Keep in mind that this pet has been mine for 4 years on a side acct. As soon as I transferred him I got a neomail that said, "hi, can I please have my pet back!" Huh??

The user who neomailed me doesn't look like a newbie, he's a guild leader with a bunch of painted pets (1 baby, 1 halloween & 1 lost desert), so I'm really confused here... Is he trying to scam me out of my pet (it's also painted Halloween) or what? Obviously there's no way he ever owned my pet and I'm a little scared he may report me or something. What should I do? o_O

Block him and delete the message is all you can do.

I think maybe hes trying to scam you, he probably thought that you had just found the pet in the pound. I suggest telling him that you just transferred the pet over and then block him and report if necessary if he tries to contact you again. Just cos hes the leader in a guild doesnt make him a nice person!!:)

Trying to scam you. And even if he DID report you, adopting someone else's pet isn't something you can report about. Once a pet is in the pound, it's in the pound, it can go to anyone. Therefore if he reported you somehow, he would get in trouble for false reporting; not you.

Sometimes it is the best to ignore. That's why I take screenies as proof.

EDIT: Any pet put up for adoption is adoptable. Reporting somebody for adopting a pet will not get any adopters in trouble.
