29th October - Halloween (almost)!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN from everyone at Neopets. Hope you have a great weekend doing all kinds of spooky fun things!!

SITE UPDATE - We have made lots of changes to our yellow template today. It is now four images instead of eleven, and it is about 1K less in size, so the site should load a lot faster for everybody! *hurrah*

Turn your Neohome into a Haunted House with one of these Spooky Windows!

There is a new Mystery Pic competition. The answer to the last one was the Kyishi. There were 615 winners, each earning 3,253 NP each.

NEW CONTEST - Every week or so we will be running a Random Contest, what you will be asked to do will vary from competition to competition. You may need to write the most bizarre poem, create a Neopets sock puppet, absolutely anything.

This week we are asking you to send in your Neopet themed pumpkins. If your pumpkin is chosen, you could win a snazzy avatar, special item and 2,000 NP!

We have added lots of new Colouring Pages to the Haunted Woods.

Today's Card of the Day is none other than Kanrik.

There are some new Poems with a spooky theme for you look at.

Halloween wouldn't be right without some amusing ghost shaped foods and this year is no exception. The Spooky Food Shop has four varieties of Ghost Toast for you to munch on!

This week we have a rather spooky edition of the Neopian Times for you to enjoy.

Whatsup270 has just won this week's Neohome Spotlight award with their house - 1110 Volcano Lane, Tyrannia.

The last Pet Spotlight award of the week has been given to Vyala the Ruki.

Don't forget to send your friends one of these new Happy Halloween Neogreetings!

Count Von Roo has been added to our How To Draw section.

A new Beauty Contest is about to begin.

Get your Neopet in the Halloween mood with one of these rather spectacular Costumes. They can choose from Vira, Meuka, Dr Sloth, Count Von Roo and Lord Kass!

A new extra-halloweeny Caption Contest has just gone live. Can you think of something witty to say?

There is another spooky Blog for your shop featuring the Little Witch Usuki.

Last but not least, the Art Gallery is full of all kinds of Halloween themed pictures.

A little snippet from the editorial wrote:What happened to Neoschool? - Kitty992111
At the moment Neoschool is on hold. There are no plans to release it in the near future. When we first thought of the idea it was just a rather simple thing, rather like an advanced quest system. As we started thinking more into it we realised that it could be something far more. Rather than rush and release something that just isn't as well thought out or properly implemented as it should be, it is on hold. This is not to say it will not happen, just not anytime soon.

I love the editorial!

Secondly a few people have expressed some concern over the plot. At the moment we are on part 3 of 16 so that can give you some idea of how early on it is. Rest assured lots of very cool things are planned, including the introduction of the Thieves Guild (yes we REALLY do mean it), a puzzle and not one, but two battles that you may choose to take part in. Obviously to participate in one of the battles you will need to take sides and that may have certain benefits and disadvantages.

And I also love wars!

Oh, yay, watch weapons prices shoot up again. :x After selling off all my weaps from the last war, the prices never went back down, so all I have is a really crappy battle set and not enough money to really invest.

On a lighter note, does anyone else think that the new contest thingie is a really great idea? It seems like it should turn out pretty good. :)

My friend just offered me a good item to help me in war and now I'm happy to battle in the war.
I was one of the people who said, "I'll beleive it, when I see it" and now that I see it. Fine, there's some sort of war coming.

I like the fact we can choose sides. I guess TNT learnt that people like choosing sides over just everyone on one side.

...I was kinda expecting more halloween images. One page for Halloween seemed a tad weak.

Aww...my Acara Pumpkins apparently didn't get in the Art Gallery...I painted them by hand. In any case, here they are if you'd like to see them:

Remy, those are amazing! Great work :)

Yay! :P All the changes really seemed to have done is completely make a mess of peoples' lookups, shop setups and font colors, guild layouts and events not showing up. Wow, that's alot for a whole 1k less in size, eh?

The new Gallery of Heroes is great! I was wondering if you're going to add the more recent Villains as well as some of the older ones (Jhudora) to the Gallery of Evil. - Neopian_queen_liana
We will be adding more to both, although we are still debating whether Jhudora actually is evil or not. Also dont't worry Jeran won't be the only boy in the Gallery of Heroes for much longer either :)

WHA?? You mean king Skarl is a girl! :o :o :roflol:

Awesome news today, the Editorial is really helpful and has some really intresting stuff in it, I wish it was like this every day.

As well as looking pretty cool, each side bar as certain advantages and disadvantages. For example if you have a Faerieland side bar, you will win more on the Faerieland games, but will not be able to visit the Haunted Woods at all. Exactly what each side bar does will not be explained, that is something you will need to work out for yourself.

Wow, thats so.. weird, I don't think I want to use the faerieland side bar anymore.

King Skarl is not a boy, he is a grumpy old man. ;)

But then... I wouldn't call Jeran a boy either. :P

Sat Oct 30, 2004 4:48 am

Jeran is...umm...a teenager?

Yay! A puzzle AND war war! A chance for some sweet sweet war points

I like how the Yurble looks like the Tax Beast, thought it's not very scary hmm

So has anyone gotten one of these goodie bags yet?

And those new themed toolbars sound amazing! can't wait to try those out.

They will most probably start the war July next year and by that time everyone's excitement would have diminished.

Last year weren't the goody bags set up as random events instead of something only the restockers can get?
