If you steal the best, you're liable to be noticed first. If you steal from someone who may not care so much or who doesn't have as wide of a fan following, then you've got a better chance of getting away with it.

It's something thats impossible to stop, despite efforts.
There are ways to track images online, spydering I do believe is what it's called but it's VERY expensive.
Watermarks, although effective are normally ugly, and just... *shrug* in the way for most pictures.

I agree on the Watermarks...they can be effective and in some cases they are necessary, but they do put that ugly thing on your pictures. And I did investigate it via PSP, but it IS expensive to use anything other than the default, and even with a watermark it's incredibly hard to track theft.

It's really a shame that people have to steal. If you can't draw, don't enter the BC or Art Gallery. Life will not end! Same with lookup/background theft. So sad, so very lame. And makes me so mad when I see someone saying they made their lookup...you view source and not only did they not make the lookup (hence stealing it), they've usually used the original person's image host - so they're bandwidth stealing too! I haven't tried the view source for Art Gallery/BC...would that work the same?

I entered the BC twice, and once, my pic of my Zafara, _kaprise_ was stolen. The idiot didn't even bother removing my pet's name, and then said that someone gave him the image, then lied more and said their twin on the same account stole it... yeah... sure...
