Haha - I don't need to call it as I see it to feel superior to you.

Yes, I'm sure you don't. So you called it to be rude. Boy, you're just a bundle of joy aren't you :D?

Edit: Whoops, didn't mean to retaliate. Sorry bout that.

Ammer, man, geez, don't get into a fight. You have 4 stars, you should know better! Why did you insult that poor person by saying that? Geez. I wish I could delete your posts from this topic!

I said she might've been a scammer, I didn't call her one. And she retaliated quite fiercely. Anywho, let's drop this and get back on topic.

Now, all of you, STOP THINKING FILES ARE ALL-POWERFUL!

Seriously. It's a ZIP file. Downloading it won't hurt. Neither will extracting it. Just be careful not to execute what you extract. Files can't do more than they're intended to do, the way they're designed won't let them. The only files that constitute security threats are .EXE, .EXE.GZ, .HTML, .HTM, .XML, or any .ZIP, .TAR, or any other archive containing any combination thereof. In fact, contrary to popular opinion, you can safely download a .EXE file without risk of contracting a virus. You can also disassemble said EXE file to see what it would have done without said risk.

And, yes, I'd like to see the attachment, too, just to see what it is.

By the way, if you've noticed my thread earlier, I can spoof header information to make it seem like an e-mail is coming from mailto:support@neopets.com, in fact, PM me your e-mail and I'll send one your way.

Let this screenshot be a reminder to everyone just how easy it is to fake an e-mail from neopets.
My friend Wayne (Illumination) did this over a year ago:

That had me laughing!

The thought of a virus is sort of scary. Have you found anything out yet, Radiostar?

I can send the e-mails myself, so it's kind of fun. I even have a special folder for the ones I send myself.

EDIT: Made the screenie smaller, so it's easier to see.

Even if this is a legitmate scam, these boards are not supposed to be used to distribute files that are potientially dangerous files even if it is for "observation."

First, I agree -- never open an attachment to an email. Second, if you get an email from TNT and you have any type of preview, even if it's just the address, and see a hotmail, yahoo, etc. on the end, don't even open the email.

Third - do not respond to any of these emails - now the potential scammer has your email address, you've verified it by replying.

Fourth - you all do know there are some types of bot programs that scan forums (and this one is well known) looking for email addys for spam mail, etc.. The forum I mod on does not allow members to post their emails - we remove them if they do. Plus, why would you make your email public? Just not a good idea...don't be surprised if you end up getting one of these fake TNT emails.

Lastely (whew, you thought I'd never stop, right?), there is a new spyware/trojan - vbouncer that shows up as vbouncer.exe. Yes, it's a zip, no I didn't open it, no I didn't d/l any email attachments. Still trying to figure out how I got it. Spybot is trying their best to get rid of it - it shows up in Spybot but it can't get rid of it; you have to keep searching and removing it manually - but they're working on it - it just keeps replicating itself and will get into your winnit, TEMP - where it keeps changing names - and other places.
