Thanks for everyone's comment, I like reading other opinions. I hope to see many more responses. I sent this into the Editorial, so mabye it will be answered in 2 weeks. I a perfectly ok with the fact and legality and all. But I do like collecting avatars. And, now that I am limited to not getting the "Lucky Streak" avatar, I feel bad. And, those gamees were my favorites. In life, I play poker with my friends because it is fun, and it requires a smart mind, if you ever watched poker. Do you think this is teaching me to be a gamble addict?? No way. I now have a better mind of math and take more risks. I thought those games were great for the site, but I guess some smarter people thought different. Oh well, keep responding, I like to her opinions as i stated :).

True. I'm sure my parents would be willing to sign--after all, they signed my chat permission form for two accounts. It's not like I ever play those games anyway, but it seems very unfair that I can't if I wanted to.

One thing I'm confused about: I know under-13s can't play, but what about 13s? It seems from the Editorial that they can't, but the cutoff for stuff is usually 12 (10-12; 13-17, etc.) so that doesn't really make sense.

13s can play. That's how old you must be.

That's good, then. I'm 13 in less than a month.

Meh...I started playing when I was 10, and I had an over 13 account. Of course, I'm 13 now so it doesn't really matter that much...

But that's really stupid. I can see limiting it for the REALLY young kids (Forgot what the youngest age group was:p), but this just seems a little extreme.

To clarify, I'm ten. I think I'm ready to tell you guys.
Anyways, I agree. An all adult/teen board would just be full of crap like "WAnT To o CyBER!???"
Therefore, while good in concept, it wouldn't work out like it was meant to.

Bahahaha.

They deserve all the restrictions they are getting if they are that stupid.

Apparently honesty is a stupid quality?

Exactly my thoughts.

Lying about your age can only bring you to feel guilty. :>

what the heck. It's the Internet. It's like an unwritten rule: you're always supposed to lie about your age if you're under 18 or 13, depending on the site.

LOL @ you guys. New Member to the Internet.

I really don't appreciate the insult. The internet? Who gives if its the internet or not? Its not a rule, I didn't do it, any many people I know don't do it, you can call me a rulebreaker I guess.

New to the internet? Hah! so not true :)

I guess having an 18+ board or whatever would only bring problems, so back to the drawing board I go :P

But first, I find it hard to either agree or disagree with the 'lie about your age' issue. I mean, I know for a fact that Newgrounds and Miniclip are meant for 18+, yet a large portion of under 8 year olds still visit the sites. In a sense, thats lying about your age.

When you sign up for a lot of stuff, you usually have to be over 13 or over 18 or would otherwise have to get parental consent. How many under 13/18 year olds honestly do that?

You have to remember that you can't treat all minors as immature brats. Some are, sure, but a lot of them (br00ster for example), are so mature, you would think you were talking to an adult.

In the end, the Internet is just a place where people can let loose their feelings and imagination, but sometimes you need to lie about your age to be able to do that, or else face the dreaded "You are too young to view this page" page.

I've been using the internet since I was 9, and I turn 13 in a couple months. I am not new to the internet. I feel it is bad for my moral to lie about my age. Some might think I was 17 years old, some might think I'm 8, but I'm not going to lie and say I'm either. Obviously you are the one who is new to the internet. Ore at least to the part of the world I call "moral".

I am perfectly ok with the fact that they need a little limitation. But, because of a 9 year old boy who doesn't really get neopets, I think it is too far. And, I think there should be a permission form for the players who are too young but love those games. Of course, that is if they bother to go that far for their younger players.

I hate it when these things happen. It's so unfair to everyone who signed up as under thirteen. I am 11, but I don't think this was immoral to sign up as 13-17. As long as I don't abuse my freedom, I don't think that it's wrong. I don't regret it one bit.

It's so unfair that people act so stupid that the smarter people end up having to pay... -_-;

I've sent this to the editorial just now, and have saved it in a word pad document so that I can send it in again if they don't enter it into the editorial.

I send to the editorial wrote:
I am 12, and have been playing neopets for nearly 3 years, my mom signed the permission form nearly 2 and a half years ago. I dislike the 13-year-old age limit on a few Luck and Chance games. I have seen many people, on Neopets themed forums, or even on other online games that I avidly play complain about this. It limits us from gaining the avatars from games like that, such as Dice-A-Roo and Bilge Dice. It is my opinion that there should be a form that parents would need to fill out, that would allow their kid to play the restricted Luck and Chance games, or even lower the limit to 11 or so, be cause by then, most kids have been exposed to some Luck and Chance themed games, if not taught to play some cards games by their friends, then by their parents. Please consider a form that the parent/legal guardian would need to fill in to allow the under 13 population of Neopets to play the restricted games. Thank you for reading this, and please take this into consideration.

I would of typed more.. Stupid 1000 character limit.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a good idea? This will keep the complaints about Neopets being a gambling site down to a dull roar because once you are over 13, you should be mature enough to make decent decisions.

However, there should be a parental permission form allowing them to play the luck/chance games on Neopets.

No, you're not the only one. I think it's a good idea too.

And for all you people under 13 (or at least, those people who haven't lied about their age), you should be glad that the restriction only lasts until you're 13. I mean, there are many places in the world where gambling is illegal if you're under the age of 18. So yea, it could be a lot worse.

Yea, I agree. Maybe kids these days just don't learn any sort of ethics from their parents. I mean, I was raised believing that lying is a bad thing.

Ohmigod! Okay, I know you're 10 and all... but do you seriously think that adults talk like that? Or that cybering is all we ever think about?

Sheesh. If anything, an adult board would be more likely NOT to contain such statements as "WAnT To o CyBER!???"

The only problem I could see about having an over 18s board is that it would force more people to lie about their age, just so they could participate.

This is what's wrong with the world... too many people lie about their age!
