They mentioned a Curse on Maraqua in the Editorial for the NT, there should be some huge plot coming up then I guess.

when maraqua was destroyed it was a day after they had a big curse put them by the pirate skull and crossbones guy.

Basic outline

Darkest Faerie
Evil, tried doing naughty stuff
Fyora used magic amulet to encase her in stone for 1000 years
Sunk to bottom of Maraqua
1000 years ends in roughly 11,135,143 seconds
Coincides with the Talador plot in summer which coincides with Spinning of Neopia which coincides with the Neopets PS II game

What you should concider buying are hidden tower items, during the PS2 game the hidden tower might just disapear, there was a clue one that said "what would happen if the faerie queen disapeared?"

But yea, really it has been there for months.
