I don't think making the war "fair" for low-level battlers is the right way to look at the question. I agree, it's fair now.

I think the question is how to make the war "more fun" for low-level battlers, which make up the vast majority of the Neopian population.

Obviously it will be (and should be) a super-1337 high-level battler with a kick-ass pet and an insanely expensive battledome set which is going to "win" the war, but I think it would be fun to have more and more varied low-level opponents, for example, or more different trophies at the lower levels to give people something to shoot for. Maybe some sort of plot-related "quests" at different levels that players can complete, some for weak pets and some for strong pets?

It's not that the uber-strong pets killing more opponents is unfair, it's that there isn't often a lot that's interesting for low-level pets to do. A war should be an event that's exciting for the entire site, not just the tiny fraction of Neopians who can afford to train uber-strong pets and buy expensive battledome sets.

I would just like it to be easier for me to train. I have a level 60something pet and I can not afford 15k a training session.

I really do not like codestone inflation because it basically prevents anyone ffrom getting a strong pet unless they have tons of money. The only viable alternative to that is dubloon training and level 40 is really not all that high. TNT needs to increase the chances of getting codestones as RE or from tombola I think.

Level 40's not that high but if you stop leveling your pet around 35th level, you can run their stats up to twice their level before having to go to the more expensive codestones. It's what I'm doing with Lenny_mas_Grande (except for his int which isn't effected by the 2x level thing), but I'm both a cheapskate and plenty patient.

You're smart, Kess. I let my battle pet's hitpoints get up to 184 while his level and strength were still relatively low, and I'm paying the price now (literally). He's currently at level 86 and strength 76. In a few days he'll be at level 92 and I'll be able to train his strength up some more, but it'll cost me a lot of NP at four codestones per point! Codestones seem to have stopped inflating now, though, and a few even seem to have gone down a bit, unless I'm imagining things...

(Your userlookup is really cool, by the way. Love the "pile of books" sidebar. Have you submitted it to the UL contest?)

Thanks! I submitted it last week, but no word back yet.

My first pet was a lab monster, huge HP, medium level & str, and low defense. (You can look him up as Harlock999, although he's not mine anymore, I lost him in a botched xfer.) By the time I wised up and attempted traingin him up to a more balanced battler, it was costing 4 codestones per training session. *ouch*

My lab rat is currently Fortitude, who I plan on labbing indefinitely.

Lenny_mas_Grande is my main battling pet. I'm quite happy with him and I recently acquired the new Lenny Ray Gun of Freezing for his BD kit.
