I got a Neomail saying I'd won this week's Mystery Pic, but when I clicked on the answer pic to see if I really did get it, and it says I get reported, even though the judging's been done and I won already.

Have I really been reported or is that a joke?

I have to admit, I truly don't like this "Joke".

When it first happened to me I was pretty new to np and I was scared for a good month that I was going to get iced, warned etc..... I'm so very careful not to even bend the rules because I don't want to lose my account that it really surprized me!! When nothing happened I gulped and thought, "Whew! Lucked out".

Then it happened again and I happened to see a similar thread to this one here on PPT and it made me angry.

I enjoy a good joke just as much as the next person but this one is a little over the top especially with the easy "icing" that happens sometimes at Neo. I think they should put a little disclaimer like "(Hehe! just kidding...)" or something. It's happened to all my kids on separate occasions and they were all frightened as well (it happened before me and they didn't tell me - little stinkers!) Oh well.....

The last time it happened to me, which was the only time, by the way, they did have something like "just kidding" next to the "reported!".

Guess they took it off?

That's not funny. What's the point of a joke that just scares somebody to death?

It's not a joke. It's a programming hitch.

That is designed so people can't edit the URL to the answer screen and receive answers for the current one. It has a message like that to try and scare people off doing it (in the fear they will be reported)

However, due to some sloppy programming, every so often the answer box appears down the bottom for the current conundrum/mystery pic. Sometimes the answer box doesn't update to the actual answer. Either way you get that screen, it's there to stop newbie cheaters, not as a joke.

More like bad joke.
