The thing is what someone can do is not being restricted to an extent - it just means having to live without a certain luxury e.g. owning a Lutari...

I totally agree with Twisted Sanity though about this being likely to be the first step of many ways that we eventually will be restricted in how we play neopets

It's an interesting point - being restricted to what you can do with the site is not new, and it's not just a financial/country-related issue. Have a think - I bet there are many things that all of you can find that you can't do with the site (for reasons other than lack of NP). Maybe you are restricted because you are on an under-13s account, maybe you live in a country where certain games are unavailable, maybe the flash games or comics don't work on your machine - or maybe it's something more arcane: I will never be able to see/use the Halloween sidebar, for example (unless I somehow manage to change my D.O.B.

Is the possibility of Lutari unavailability to non-cellphone users worse than these examples? Personally I'd rate it about the same - and as others have pointed out this restriction could well be lifted anyway in the future (how long before Lutari morphing potions are released? Come on, it's bound to happen!)

What I'm trying to say is that owning a Lutari isn't really necessary to enjoy neopets and if not owning a Lutari really does cripple your neopets experience then I'm sure that you can come to an arrangement with your family to allow you to use WAP for something which means a lot to you in butterflyhornet's case...

I hope I haven't offended anybody directly or indirectly but that is my view on the current situation and I hope you can respect my point of view and see my side of the debate

No I don't really want to own a lutari. I'm mad because of the principle. I see it as a huge dissapointment to those who really did desire the pet.

And I also see it as a red flag, because that indicates they have no problem making paying customer only features. Lets face it. Neopets is heading closer to a pay only site or a site where the free service is greatly limited compared to the pay version. It may not be this way now, but things are creeping towards that direction, even if the staff try to lie and comfort us by saying it isn't going to happen. (yet)

It's reality. Let's just face it.

Things tnt are doing like this and my real life are driving me away from wanting to stay on neopets much longer.
