In my opinion, anthros work quite well for plots... but even there, it's been carried too far. If you're going to have characters that can swordfight, opposable thumbs are a necessity. But there's no reason why the pets must walk plantigrade (on the soles of their feet, rather than their 'toes,' like a dog/cat/Lupe) if the pet itself walks digitigrade. Jeran and Kass worked just fine without that. And there's definitely no reason to make female pets look like the Ships Cook from Curse of Maraqua (urgh) when even the Court Dancer didn't need that.

As far as hair goes, it really depends on the pet. That Ixi, for example, looks really awkward, though it works on some pets. But TNT's already proved that it's not really necessary- look at Lisha, Kayla, and Jeran, who have no hair besides what their species have anyway.

TNT's already done anthro pets without proper clothes (or any clothes at all). Skarl's robe doesn't close fully, there's a Darigan Skeith in the first chapter of Battle for Meridell that isn't wearing anything (yet is still anthro), and a Scorchio (with hair!) in BfM Chapter 11 who's only wearing a shirt. Not to mention the fact that Jeran's armor is seriously lacking in the Caption Contests that he's featured in.

For the Caption Contests, I think that if they want to use a subject that just wouldn't work with regular pets, they should at least go back to the "little kid anthro" look that they had for the characters before the Hannah plot. It's not too hard to imagine someone like Kayla, Boris, or Brucey B. as one of your pets playing dress-up. But supermodel Aishas are rather hard to picture standing on all fours.

I don't mind them being able to stand like humans, or being able to handle an object the way a person does, but when they start to look like a person wearing a mask it's too much. The only pet in that picture that's acceptable (imo) is the bori.

And, no pet, plot or otherwise, should have (what looks like a) woman's chest. They can wear a dress, but they shouldn't be able to fill it out.

Well, it's a bit spiffy looking, but I do prefer that they stay as close to the pet designs as possible. For example, Hannah and Garin were done nicely, Scarblade was not (ever seen him attack on Attack of the Revenge? EEEE!!!)

I'm more annoyed about how all the plots seem to take place in the distant past or something. I WANT SLOTH!!!

I on the other hand, don't mind anthro's anythings. Yes I'm a furry and frankly, as long as no more "human" characters are turned in to neopets, I'm happy. They had to become anthro in plots and that or we wouldn't have any fun at all.. Though, if Dr. Sloth gets transformed in to a neopet of somekind... I'm quitting...

I think it is OK. I don't mind too much. I think they look cuter a tad Anthro  , but if it gets too much- it'll be really bad looking.

Anthro-I am mostly fine with it, but when it goes too far-no.
I draw anthro Neopet's but I am fine with having non contrasting hair colours. I am fine with human legs but busts-nope. I don't think an animal would have one, so a Neopet shouldn't have one.
This gets annoying-because of osme, people assume all anthro is like that. It isn't.

Egad I love anthro. I'm too biased right now to make a proper contribution. Nngh.

Actually I do have something to say. TNT needs to keep the anthros digitigrade or keep that short/stocky cartoony look that they sometimes use in which the neopets seem to have no identifiable knees. Otherwise they're just people with funny skin and animal heads. Or sometimes not even that.

I mean then they don't even really seem like anthro. Just neopet-people which is just creepy.

Some can be cute (IE: Royal Female Aisha, etc.) whereas others just look... bad? (Captain Scarblade or whatever) I think if it's well done and still looks like a pet, yes, but otherwise, no.

I think it's alright but to a certain extent. Like I don't wan't my Lupe to suddenly grow Arnie muscles and stuff like that. They need to make the pets look like animals.... not just humans with costumes on.

"Don't know/unsure"

I do miss the old school style although the new stuff isn't too bad. I don't know. I just get on neopets to play games and raise some np..

I like anthro, and I draw a few characters like that sometimes.. But I don't like anthro-Neopets. I guess I don't mind it much in plots - though I'd like to see a non-anthro plot - when the characters aren't all.. like a human wearing a Neopets costume, rather than a Neopets wearing a human costume... if that made any sense.
