I don't care too much. Some of them can look cool if you know what you're doing, but then again theres the fact that several other people have the same lookup and I know for most that might be nothing but I've always been one to like uniqueness. I don't think people should use them if they don't understand HTML with atleast some small speck of knowledge. I mean, come on, when one accidentally backspaces something and doesn't notice, if the source code is wrong, anything- a lot can happen, it could mess up the whole page. It just doesn't look right when the page is stretched across the screen, your info is horridly slammed to the left and is unreadable, and there's images that should be clickable but aren't. Its cool to have a spiffy lookup, but sometimes it's just better to be plain if you don't know what you're doing.

I don't have a problem with pre-mades. I do however have a problem when people use pre-mades and run around and gloat about how great their lookup is without mentioning that they didn't make it. Lack of credit, much?

I use pre-mades every once-in-awhile when I can't be bothered to make my own lookups and I want some colour but for the most part I avoid using them myself, I either make my own or just keep to simple text with various colour links.

Maybe its a little negative of me, but I also hate it when people make pre-mades and rant about how great they are when in fact my brother (who pretty much only knows how to make things bold with html) could probably do a better job if he sat down for 10 minutes and gave it a shot.

I also hate it when "raters" sit there and rate lookups and tell people whether they think a lookup was good/bad while the rater him/herself sits there with a pre-made. It gives the rater no credit whatsoever.

Ehhh... not my cup of tea. Just the whole idea of seeing another person have the same user lookup would bug me. Hence, my obssessiveness over making my own user lookup designs.

i think theyre fine, not everyone who wants a cool layout has the time to make one! everyone should just care about their own layouts right? and not judge other layouts too harshly.

I'm grateful for them personally...

I can't code my way out of a paper bag and sometimes the tutorials don't help since I'm a person that needs to actually see what piece of coding makes something functional. Premade lookups provide you with an already functioning code that should work no matter what. From there you can tweak with it, insert your own graphics and hopefully be able to alter it significantly enough so that it becomes a whole new lookup.
