Wow how backwards are they over there. If they really scream about homosexuality I'd start screaming discrimination real fast. Some of my best friends are gay or lesbian, that makes them no less human than I am, so why wouldn't pets be gay or lesbian?

To stay a bit more on topic, two of my neopets playing friends have pets that are engaged to eachother. I think that as long as two sensible people who know eachother agree to such a thing, just for the fun of the roleplay, there's nothing wrong with it. When some stranger would ask me something like that I would tell them to get lost, but since my real life friends group contains a lot of roleplaying neopians I think I would allow my pets to date one of theirs for the great stories you can make with that. (But if you really think Neopets is going to freeze me sooner if it's a gay or lesbian thing I may think twice on one of those )

you still have to remember that this is to all intents and purposes a child friendly site. If they start allowing dating and homosexual pets then they would have to slap a rating of at least 12+ on the site which is the last thing TNT would want. So banning pet relationships is their way of keeping it all from spiraling out of control and i completely agree with them doing it. I mean come on.......... dating pixels o_0 smacks of crazy to me

Well, I think TNT/Neopets itself would be about as quick to warn/freeze in any case of Neopet dating (caveat: though the mention of the words gay or lesbian on the chat boards (or guilds, & maybe even Neomail) will draw official wrath quickly) . . . but other players on chat boards, alas, would be more likely to report homosexual role play.

At any rate, it's in part to avoid discrimination that all Neopet dating is verboten
