I seriously am getting popups off neopets. The link comes off neopets! And another user says he's getting spyware. Why are they doing this? They promised to not have pop-ups on neopets-ever.

Well, it isn't Neopets that is giving you the pop ups. But the cookies that the ads leave behind. Some of the cookies from those ads are evil.

But, because Neopets allows those ads on their website, Neopets is ultimately responsible for the pop ups. Even though Neopets.com did not specifically create them. I suggest that you write Neopets about the ones you are getting. Try to get the name of the website that is causing it. And report that website to Neopets. There is an area in the Contact Form specifically for banner ads.

And, you might want to do what I have done. Everytime, I see an ad, I determine its website address and then use Internet Options to block that website's cookies. You will still see the ad, but at least the cookies cannot stick to your computer. And, later cause pop ups to appear. Right click on the ad, go to Properties and copy that website address. Then go to Internet Options, then Privacy, then Sites. Paste the website in the box and then hit block.
