Codestone prices are up to about 5-6k for no apparent reason. It's really slowing my training.

Yeah I noticed that. They seemed to jump about a week or two ago. Seems like most of the stones were about 4200 back then. Now the average price seems to be closer to 4900.

It annoys me too because I'm also trying to train and it costs 3 codestones per stat point right now.

Same here. Three codestones per stat, too, and by tomorrow I'll need four per stat. I think it's because word got out that there will be a war. However, people should stop inflating them because according to Donna, there's no need to train up and load up on expensive equipment for this war! I posted this in the "War?" thread, too, but this is from the newest editorial:

There are rumors going around that there will be a war in Maraqua with the upcoming plot. I am just wondering if this is true because in editorial 175, it states that there will probably not be a war with the upcoming plot. I was wondering if you could settle rumors. We weren't going to have a war this time as we want to rewrite how our wars work. This should make it fairer to the people with weaker, less experience pets and provide a challenge to the players with expert battledomers. The more we think about it, the more it seems to make sense that there would be some element of fighting tied into this plot. It does feature a lot of pirates after all! We just need to make things smoother and fairer for everybody. Sorry if that is a bit of a round about way to answer your question. We are almost certain there will be a war, but I wouldn't go wasting your Neopoints on expensive equipment as this battle will not work in the same way as before.

I'm really tired of TNT trying to passively aggressively say that the last war's prizes (and the war in general) was ruined by the strong pets fighting all they could.
THEY TRAINED HARD AND SPENT THEIR TIME FIGHTING OPPONENTS.
I don't see how they can try to use them as scapegoats.
TNT slacked off and they need to admit it.

At first when I saw IDB's front page, I was all confused. Because I read in the editorial that there wasn't going to be a war for this plot, but for the next one.

I just hope they don't do another war where only, say, 10,000 of a certain enemy are released at a time and everyone has to rush to kill them. That creates terrible lag, annoys people who have work or school or are asleep at a certain time, and really doesn't make it fairer. I'd rather a normal war where the big players rack up the most points than something like that. I agree that "elite" battledomers deserve to do better than everyone else -- they put a lot of time and NP into training.

I personally would really like a war. But only if it's 100x better than the last one. After spending hours beating opponents and only getting a cruddy little prize I was really aggitated. There's really no excuse for doing that to us. It doesn't take much to give us a decent prize. It doesn't cost them a dime.

And I just know they're gonna come up with some horrible idea to make the war more "fair" for weaker players. I guess they could put a cap on how many opponents we kill. Like, say 800 weak ones, 1000 strongers ones, and so on. That way everyone gets a fair shot and the stronger pets would still be able to outshine the weaker pets.

I want a war too. I did train my pet for a long time and spent lots and lots of money. Maybe they can have different wars for weaker pets and stronger ones...

I really hope this coming war is gonne be MUCH better than the previous. I got like 450+ pts and got wad ? a toy ? yeah a useless toy and 1k. someone got 10pts. he got the SAME. it is fustrating and really making me burn. Hope tnt would not disappoint us once more.

If this war caters to weak battledomers and basically "cold shoulders" everyone who has spent their neopoints and time training their pets, I will not involve myself with it.
People have puzzles to participate in if their pets are weak.
This is just insulting.

I'm really confused about the whole No, there's Not going to be a war, then Yes, there Is going to be a war ... but don't spend np on equipping your pet? I don't think they've figured this one out at all.

Weak pet ... that could be a relative term. Right now (training on hold) my pet is 106, 106 and 108 (I think?) hp. To many of the bd'ers he IS a weak pet. And compared to many yes, he is. But compared to the new people entering the battledome with 14 hp pets, well he's pretty strong.

See what I mean about relative? Relative or compared to who or what?

As to the codestone inflation, yes part of it is, I'm sure, all the war rumors. The other big thing is the long anticipated release of the ninja school and needing those red codestones. If people didn't have a stash of regular (or red ones) already, right now it still seems cheaper to buy all 10 regular codestones to make 1 red.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I haven't gotten a codestone as an RE or from tombola since I believe December. So if people are getting (generally speaking) less of them and there is the demand ... well, that kind of leaves the rest of us having to pay alot more for training our non-1337 pets.

I really do not like codestone inflation because it basically prevents anyone ffrom getting a strong pet unless they have tons of money. The only viable alternative to that is dubloon training and level 40 is really not all that high. TNT needs to increase the chances of getting codestones as RE or from tombola I think.

Ok, honestly, I don't GET IT.
You do poorly in a war because you don't train or buy half-decent weapons.
You're going to consequently have a low point total and a bad prize.
That's how wars work.


What's really angering me is the fact that they take questions like "its nut fair taht I got 157 pointz and my friend got much less, and we got the same prize...", and put them in the editorial.


They're LISTENING to people like that!
