If you have one of the previous Wines, and are trying to sell it, make sure you don't price it like the rest of the juices.

neopets probably decided that "selling" alcohohol (sp) on a kiddies site was not very good.

If it was Neopets, they wouldn't of put it on there years ago.

They really go overboard on this stuff I think, OH NOS ALCOHOL DOES NOT EXIST, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM TIMMY!!!!! Dang soccer moms and their "I want to make a difference on something that doesn't matter!" logic.

Overboard... maybe? It's still an alcoholic thing on what many would argue to be a childrens site.

Though I have doubt some little 11 year old would go,"Neopets has wine so I will go get some too and over-drink and die" but hey, the world is weird and some people have that logic, unfortunatly. I really won't miss them though. They'll have to get rid of grogs, too. (Yay. I've always thought that was more inapropriate than the wine cause priates are always walking around swiggin' one acting completely drunk.)

But oringally Neopets was based for the PreTeen, Teen/Young Adult area. So having "Wine" on there wasn't, and isn't in my eyes, abig deal. It's FAKE for the most part

changing the wines I can maybe understand, but removing the cocktails from the golden dubloon is just stupid.. next they'll be taking away all the stuff sold at the pharmacy, just in case some kid decides to feed prescription meds to the cat, or diagnoses themselves with neopox and turns into an intravenous drug user. whatever.

But... but don't you treat neopox by eating pizza? Maybe Neopets is afraid they'll be blamed for obesity -_-

Too bad about the wine, but I suspected it would happen eventually. I bet Nigel the Chia's sports car goes away soon, too.

Is it odd that there was a very recent thread on wine on Neopets on one of the boards, then they do this?

I hope not - it makes me amused when I sell a stock and every now and again it says "Nigel wil soon be able to afford that new Ferrari" at the bottom of the page. Take away quirky little features like that and the stock market would just become another anonymous game of chance on a site full of the things.... and so the intrigue of the game slowly dies as everything on the whole site is homogenised.

Same goes with the wine, it's an odd double-standard that any mention of drink possibly connected with alcohol has been removed yet the site is still full of games promoting gambling, and both can form the basis of an addiction. The occasional mention of wine (it's not exactly a common item nowadays is it?) is not going to corrupt kids - and it's not as if it has any effect on your pets even if you were rich enough to feed ten bottles to them they wouldn't get drunk. A total storm in a teacup (or wineglass maybe?).

Hmm, I actually understand taking the drinks from the dubloon (to a point), but NOT the wine. Those are/were pretty rare, aren't they? I don't see the point in this. Except for really cheesing off people who either have the wine to sell or have spent ... how much?!!! ... for it for their galleries. Imagine saving up and buying Rose Wine, then going to look in your gallery and seeing sparkling juice in its place.
