If supporters donated money and items, would those go to warriors? Like, funds distributed for the purchase of weapons and healing items?

I doubt it would go directly to warrior players. I think it'd go to a virtual fund like when you donate to Tombola or the faeries/quests.

I really hope that's the case. There's been a lot of talk on the bd board about getting the donations from supporters then selling them. :/

Oh, wouldn't that be an accident waiting to happen? :o I see lots of problems with that scenario. And foresee the various ways that people could multi-account just to abuse the system.

Hopefully, Jas and Shapu are correct and it is a black hole/virtual fund that the items go to.

LOL. That would be uber unfair. TNT would surely be smart enough to create a foolproof n fair plan. hehe

Wait I'm confused, is there only one lookup shield for each choice, no matter how many points you get?

...Yes, I decide which side I join in wars based on shields

War Update - Just to clear things up, you MUST choose a side before the fighting starts, or you will not be able to participate in the battle (as a fighter or support class) at all. We will be closing the recruitment centre on Monday/Tuesday of next week.

Dang, this is looking to be an awesome war. I just hope the war goes as well as the pre-war stuff.[/quote]

pattypus, I have similar stats to you and I chose supporter. Depends what you think you could do better as. :)

My rationale was that I had the potential to be a very good supporter, but I didn't have the potential to be an elite battler. But you may want to fight if you like fighting.

Gah I think the war already sucks. Why do people have to choose sides so soon? I think a lot of people will realise this too late and can't participate because of it :-/

I was just going to post that I would be a supporter.
It's nice to know someone else chose the same thing as me, while in a similar state. :) Thanks.

I like it. Not only will it probably help cut down on lag (not as many battlers, due to the support system and the fact that you can't sign up late), but this will also mean people can't just wait and see which side is "easiest" to get more points on.

I agree. If you cared enough to battle, and really get into the plot, then you should know by now that the recruitment center is open for business.

If you're just doing it for war points, then you probably also know by now.

Plus, it means that there will be fewer people getting prizes, which is good - their value will consequently be higher.

I don't like the fact that you have to choose between Warrior and Supporter before you know what a Supporter actually does. If it was clear what it was going to be all about, I might not object as much. It could be really cool and interesting, it could suck... right now there's no way to know.

I still think its hard on people who might be out of town, just not on Neopets for a while, etc. and will come back to find a war in progress that they can't participate in. Just because people aren't so addicted to the site they go there every day (like me) doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to beat up a war challenger or three.

My battle pet has 160hp and 99str. Wimpy by some standards, but I'm proud of her and I'm going for Warrior anyway. I managed break 1000 war points last time 'round, and I didn't have Beserk then... I'll see how I do this time. Wars are the main time I battle so I don't want to miss it donating healing potions... if that's what supporters do.

I think most people, especially when they know a war is on the horizon, can manage to check the site at least once a week. By Monday or Tuesday, the war signup page will have been up for that long. I think it's plenty of notice. It is sort of unfair to people who may be away on trips... but I doubt many people are on week-long trips this time of year.

I would like to know what supporters do (even though I already signed up as a warrior, I'm still curious). It says they can donate items and play games, plural, so I doubt it's something as lame as playing "Attack of the Revenge" for war points. I wonder what the "various other non-battling things" they can do for points are.

So am I.. But i am pretty sure Attack Of The Revenge would play a part because Neopets just doubled the points you can receive from it..

At first I felt bad that people couldn't sign up after monday or tuesday. But if you realize, they had to read the news to sign up in the first place, they're probably reading the news on a regular basis anyway, in anticipation for the war.
