I'm a bit sad that Mutant Day will be ending soon. I mean, I like my normal cute pets, and I've spent a lot on paint brushes and such, but they are just so awesome right now. They are going to go from awesome to cute and I think cute is going to look boring afterwards. I never realized how awesome Mutant actually looked before today.

At the moment, I have a Mutant Kougra, Cybunny, Ixi, and Draik and I love them muchly!

anyway, since this is the first time they have a mutant day, i thought it was appropriate if they made the slightest mention of the temporary pet mutation in the news. for me, i was only shocked with the thought that my account could be glitched/scammed. i wasn't feeling angry (more panicky) because i am not too particular with my pets' colours.

edit: i certainly don't mind if my draik remains a mutant, since my draik suddenly become 900k more expensive...

Ya know, if you hadn't mentioned this, I wouldn't have noticed that my Kougra and lupe had turned mutant.

I was actually considering changing my Lupe into a Mutant so now i can spend the rest of today testing it out.

I think you need to chill out a little bit. No one here is talking about you specifically; we're talking about people on the neoboards who are freaking out, abandoning pets, demanding an apology and/or just generally way overreacting. You think mutants are evil and ugly and you're annoyed your pets turned into them. That's fine. We get it. And it was okay the first time you said, basically, "sometimes I get mad and overreact and say mean things," but you've done it about three times in this thread alone, and if you KNOW you overreact that easily and get offended and say things you don't mean, maybe you should try counting to ten before you make a post like that -- you can save yourself the trouble of apologizing later. You seem like a nice girl, so I'm sure you could do that.

Everybody's precious little pets are back to normal now anyway, so it's all a moot point.

well, my baby draik turned extremely evil for one day, and is now innocent again. my already ferocious grarrl lab-pet was hideous and now a happy camper, my jetsam lost a few tentacles or fins/whatever, and my tonu stayed the same.

Having a Pteri sucks.

I nearly freaked out this morning when I logged-on, I saw my Draik first and thinking it was like a Boochi type thing I didn't see or something I was like "Eh, whatever..." because I'm really not bothered if it was Mutant or Starry as I want to re-paint it anyways. Then I saw my Chia (she's painted Pea) and I started to get a bit worried (I don't want to lose my Pea Chia) so I headed over to the News, the Neoboards and here and then everything was fine and dandy again because I knew it was only a prank - I have to say it was a very good prank though!!!

I think it's the best joke they've ever had.

I pity the people who abandoned their pets because they were 'ONG LIEK UGLEE'.

I honestly don't get why so many people got so freaked out by this. If anyone used a bit of logic, they would know that it wasn't a permanent thing--even if there was nothing in the news suggesting that.

First, they had just announced the new kougra look. Would they have done that if a day later they were going to change all kougras to mutant? Doubtful.

Second, as people have said before, the names of the pets' true colors were still shown in the pet look-up. If it had been a glitch or something permanent, my guess, is that color name would have changed to mutant.

And, finally, it is not like Neopets hasn't played tricks on us before--temporary tricks--but, tricks still the same. How can anyone forget when all of our petpets disappeared and were finally found in jelly world stuffing themselves full of jelly.

For those of you who didn't like it, all I can say is that no one forces you to play the game. Neopets decides what is it going to do and when it is going to do it. They make up the rules, they make up the pets, they make up the games, they make up the jokes.

I don't always like the things they do--hhhmmm, ask me about the non-compensation for glitches. Oh, and about the gazillion plushies they have released lately (I am a plushie collector and am dying in my attempts to get a "complete" gallery).

As players, we either go along with it or we don't--simple. Meaning we either keep playing or we quit.

However, I think that it is perfectly OK to grumble on PPT about the stuff we don't like. I mean, after all, isn't that why PPT is here? For us to voice our opinions. So, I am a bit upset that certain PPTers felt that other PPTers shouldn't be allowed to complain about how much they hated mutants. I mean, after all, look at all of the people who grumbled about the new kougra.

On one thought, it would be cool if they did this on halloween and christmas as well, because I loved having mutant pets for a day....

But only a day... Im glad I have my pets back......

Lol I got some help emails about this. Funny how only some turned mutant and not others.

The ones whose species didn't have mutant versions, didn't turn mutant, hehe. All the ones who could, did, I'm told

About other themed days where pets could possibly 'change' temporarily...wasn't there something in the Editorial about a Royal Day coming soon? If they do have a day themed like that (there is a really good chance they will) perhaps they will change eligible (i.e. able to be painted in the colour) pets into Royals! I'd love to have a Royalboy Acara for a day. If such a day occurs before I get the paint brush to paint my Acara. Even so, it'd be kind of nice for some of the poorer people to have their pets be Royal, even if it is temporarily. Although seeing every male Acara as a Royalboy on that day would kind of make the colour unspecial for me, really. Ya know, I've never even been to a lookup of a Royalboy Acara yet, let alone heard of any. I want mine to be the first I see
Just out of extreme curiosity though, does anyone actually know of anyone who has one? I'm sure there have to be at least a few out there.
