I get quite a few of them to, *usually* they dont get to me, just some do :) One other I'd been helping for a week, giving them tips on earning np etc, and when they finally asked how old I was and I told them, gave me a whole "get away from me you must be some kind of perv" attitude - that one got to me too.

Thing that annoys me the most, they *know* it's adults than run the site, right? They *know* it's adults that design *most* of the things they think are so cool, and so much fun - so why can't it click in their brains that *maybe*, just maybe, adults could *possibly* have the same idea of what is fun?

Thanks for the link to the press kit - it's bookmarked now :) And lol! ALL her mails were like that - totally horrendous!

LOL! I like that :D I seriously *never* thought that was what adults did :P Maybe cos my parents you know, were normal?

Even now, my husband and I are talking about him quitting his job, just *because* he never gets time for any fun. I'd rather we had to live on our savings fro a couple of months, then him continue working 12 hour days 5 days a week, and 8 - 10 hours on Saturday :P

What's the point of working your guts out if you cant stop and enjoy life?

And thanks for that snippet too valerielundberg :)

Heh. My parents were and still are quite crazy. They like nothing more than to do something fun. A woman I was living with once said my mum was old fasioned. Based on what she was wearing the day she met her (which happened to be 10 mins before my mother was going to drive 240 miles home. So dress didn't exactly matter!). I informed her that we were going to a few gigs (Yeah, me and me ma!) including the darkness :D She didn't believe me. But this was an older woman... Strange eh!

I'll have to show her the pics of me and ma in full leathers at a bike rally.

But a lot of people judge others on what they think is the norm or what they want it to be. Even judge based on dress rather than talking first. You can't win.

I tell kids too. A good job, is one where you don't even feel you're working. Like mines. Therefore. I have a lot of fun. Neo winds me down (stresses me out sometimes) but generaly. If I stay away from neoboards... It's cool. Apart from when I realise my planes here and it's time to leg it to the gate!

Tut, tut. You wouldn't want a cookie. :P At such an old age, it can raise your blood sugar tremendously. :P

I just got home, was out for a quick dinner, signed in and came here. Read this topic first, the title intrigued me.

Ma_Twit, I made the mistake of putting my real dob when I signed up for Neopets. It never occurred to me that anyone would question me, say awful things, do a virtual "run away", etc. But it's happened. I've been called a few choice names, told I'm too old, to get off the site, don't I have anything better to do, the standard Ewwww, you're so OLD!!! That I'm weird (like I didn't know that ;) ), etc.

Finally I just decided to keep neomail and n/f requests blocked. It got to be the only way to not have to see those (and other annoying) messages.

BTW, I'm 50 :o

I block NF requests too. But mainly because I can't see the point of random people adding me just cause I was on a forum or something...

If I've been neomailing them I'll add though. Since by then my age nor anything else will matter...

Chronological age means virtually NOTHING when it comes to the actual mental/emotional maturity of the person. And this maturity is hardly defined by what your preferences in entertainment are (of course, there are exceptions to this statement, but these are extreme cases :P). People seem to almost universally believe that you must become a somber, boring person when you define yourself as an adult.

Yep, somber and boring. That's me to a tee. Oops, I better stop dancing, get off of this table and take this lampshade off of my head first. :P

Nah omni that too and becauswe they're impervious to change
or anything new

once on the PPT comments thread(before i knew bout the forums)
i heard about someone that allegedly accused PPT of copying neo (probably thought PPT was turning into one of those site) and
that neopet would always be the best no matter what..and on and on

that "person" was probably provocked when he/she read that PPT was working on a game in secret and under the news was a yoyo picture and something else that really did look like it was from Neopets

the word battle went on and on....

well the person on the other side of the screen obviously was obsessed (spelled right??) with neo and would protect it with all her heart

kinda remind you of someone
