The Editorial once mentioned that he resembles a Korbat, but not quite one (and if you look at most cards in the TCG they mention no species for Darigan)





The Bringer of Night is actually classified as a Moehog according to its TCG card.

I'm pretty sure Darigan is a darigan korbat. Well, actually, he'd be the darigan korbat. Being Darigan himself and all. Sadly, there's no option to paint korbats darigan, although I suspect they'd look a lot like Darigan.

It's kind of a chicken and the egg problem.

It's possible that Darigan was a mutant korbat, since they're the only ones with neck ruffs. But he's purple and spiny and malevolent (darigan). Was he darigan before he became Darigan? Or was he unique, and then figured out a way to make other pets look like himself and those pets became known as 'darigan'. Why wouldn't other korbats look like that?

He's got arms in addition to wings though. So maybe not. I'd guess he was a Korbat though.

I'm pretty sure it's been said that Dr. Sloth is a big anthro chia.

He looks more like a big anthro negg to me. It's those feathers/leaves/hair things on his head.

Also the money tree, seems to be sentient. Maybe he's the brain tree's dumb cousin.

I would say the shopkeeper from the usukiland advert. I think hes a pet, I'm just not sure which one.

And the only beast that is an overgrown petpet is the Turbocactus! The others are all beasts that have petpets that resemble them (EG : It's not a Slugawoo but a Giant Sea Slug)

For the longest time I couldn't figure out what kind of species Darigan is...but looking closely, I'd say he is THE Darigan Korbat. (as previously mentioned) Most Darigan creatures grow wings in addition to their arms, so it would make sense for a Darigan Korbat to have separate arms and wings.

I do wonder how he grew so large, though. Could have been something he ate, though.
