Well, part of the reason is because if there ARE random events, they tend to be bad or useless rather than good. Granted, the best I've ever gotten is a couple of Secret Lab maps- but nothing worth 382k.

It gives out very rare paint brushes, morphing potions and sometimes dishes out more codestones. Those can be worth hundreds of thousands, and the codestone flow stops them inflating through the roof, cause let's face it, if Codestones cost ANYTHING they'd be even more outrageously priced.

Doesn't bother me much, all my items are locked up and all my NP are in the bank, even when I'm restocking I only carry around 25-30k so it wouldn't be a huge amount for me

For angry tax beast you don't get a trophy.
Only for the regular tax beast.

True there are good RE's and Bad ones, but TNT really needs to watch what they're doing with that particular one. It could happen to one of their elites, which could go one of two ways - they'd either laugh and shrug it off or scream bloody murder and shake one of the programmers half to death...

400k? wow. and 5 days for 400k? wow! I'd be mortified if lost that much. It would take months or weeks of good stockmarket activity for me to make that much back

The angry tax beast took 600k from me right after it came out, and I was *peeved* I didn't get a trophy. It's just not fair.

That is really messed up. There should be a cap on the tax beast.

That would makes the highscore table pointless.

The 25% tax is _acceptable_ to me, but the fact it don't get you avatar/highscore/challenger really annoy me.

The tax beast was a little irked that Jhudora didn't pay it's rent....either her or Illusen or Taelia or the Esophagor or all 4 combined...and it decided to keep the shiny trophies...That's my philosophy....(which was really pointless)

when i clicked on that link, the angry beast came. fortunately i only had 150np that i was gonna spend on for the wheel of excitement soon...

so that was about 38np lost. you lost more than 1000x more than that

The only bad REs I can think of from the top of my head are the Pant Devil, Shadow Usul, Grundo Commander, Dr Sloth Sludge Ray, Tax Beast, Dr Sloth Tax, Bug Brothers, ghosts and whining kadoatie. Almost all of them can be evaded if you don't have out too much np or don't leave any valuables in your inventory.

Good random events are too numerous to count. There is the golden Pteri, Illusen, random neopoints, random map pieces, faeries, codestones, foodstuff, faerie quests, Dr Sloth giving transmo potions, etc, etc.

I am sorry over your loss, but the main reason you lost so much is because you had out so much np at one go. With the tax beast around you should have been more careful.

Neopets is supposed to be for FUN AND PLEASURE. Its not supposed to be a game where you become so afraid of having your neopoints and good items stolen from being in your inventory heh. The tax beast stole from me and i didnt even get a trophy

Those add in the elements of challenge and adversity, which is crucial in every game, IMO. Furthermore they can be easily evaded.
