Ah, well that explains it I hope they pick a nice pet I like, as I have an account that is almost 4 years old

These are my thoughts:

1 year: Basic Paint Brush
2 years: Basic Paint Brush
3 years: Basic Paint Brush
4 years: Rare Paint Brush
5 years: Rare Paint Brush
6 years and up: Powerful weapon maybe?

If the prizes would be given out too often, massive deflation would occur. Paint Brushes are the one thing that will always have a market, so they'd be a good prize.

I wish. XD But then I'd want the paint brushes for every year too, not just the one I'm currently on. *bricked for being greedy* Whaaaat? I've played this game for so long I want some rewards. ^^'

That would be a bad thing. Too many paint brushes would appear at once, and *poof* they'd be worthless. If anything, I'd say at the start, give everyone a np amount based on how long they were there. Do it like the Grarrl Keno deal or something, except making it something like 50 np for every day you've been an active member. (Inactive accounts get nothing)

53 month shield, 54 months is what I actually have (shield is a month off, for almost everyone I think), that has got to be worth something good. Although, I think if it is an item they give away for each shield, they should make it like bank interest and you have to click on a button to get your prize.

That would be good, like a real war prize.

I agree that paintbrushes are the way to go. Or, they just need to have a seperate paint brush giveaway... I just need a Maraquan and and Island one my 2 main accounts will be completely the way I want them (well... then I have to get some super cool petpets).

It's a good way to reward long-time players who have proved their loyalty to the site, and also their ability to care for their pets. I want a 5th pet! I need my Faerie Pteri! I've even adopted a pet from the pound with the name I want for it (go look up "Phaeri," and check out the obsessive account dedicated to her)
This prize will be similar to the "Starter Paint Brushes" in that they are a reward to the player, but will not mess with inflation in other areas of the site. Besides, who would be opposed to the option of more pets?

Are you kidding? I would KILL for a 5th pet on my account....But knowing TNT, the prizes are just going to be as good as the monthly giveaway -_-

A 5th pet spot would be great but I'm not too sure I see it happening unfortunately. I really think TNT need to look into more ways of letting us have more pets though. There is a current limit of 5 accounts (20 pets), that of course is a lot of pets but for people who play neopets solely for the pets and getting them petpets, spotlights, good petpages etc (as opposed to avvie/trophy collectors or other neo hobbies) it's actually not that much.

Especially at the rate neo are bringing out new pets and new colours for old pets. I don't really see why there should be a limit on how many accounts you have but I definitely think it should be more than what it is. The limit is also bad as it can punish households where more than one person plays neo :/ And having more accounts can only make the site look better to sponsors and advertisers of course.

Meh, I just want to be able to have more of the cool pets that are coming out now, it used to be that you'd struggle to find 20 decent pets, now it's a struggle to cut it back to that number and with more hissi colours in the pipeline, along with the lutari and the april fools pet...argh!

As for rewards, it will be interesting to see what they do without unbalancing the game - if they gave older players another pet spot I think that would cause a lot of outrage (silly neoboards people)...I'm excited to see what they will do

People will complain about whatever the older people get, although I don't really see why. If we've put out time in this game for so long, we deserve something and when they've played as long, they'll get the same rewards, one would think.

I can see a lot of people complaining that they had such and such old account and it got iced and it's not fair they missed out on whatever.

Hey - we're older members and avoided (thus far ) being iced... or got iced accounts back - therefore, making it fair.

I think what they should do is list lengths of time and match them with prizes. For example:
12 months = Brown PB
24 months = Striped PB
36 months = Baby PB
etc...
down to # of months neopets has been in operation + 12 = Maraquan PB (or other highly desirable, extremely rare item).

You can claim a longevity prize one time ever. You can claim the prize for your "age" or any one below you. Or you can wait until you hit the number of months for any item. But you can only claim it one time-- if you burn it on the 12 month item, you can't get the 60 month item when you get there.

This way, you reward players who have been around longer with better prizes, but you also give newer players the opportunity to be rewarded in the future if they choose. This way, nobody can complain that they got iced and will miss out on the 48 month prize or whatever. They can still claim that prize when they reach 48 months on their new account.
