Yeah but gaiaonline only have two "pets" - male character and female

we've got over 50 o_O

Yeah, but I was thinking all the neopet bodies could be drawn the same way but with like different heads or something. You basically have some sort of set body type. The only downside would probably be that the different poses would have to be sacrificed.
But I dont' think I'm explaining it very well anyway.
But I think we can either have clothes or colors. We can't have both. That'd be difficult.

But the pets are all different shapes - take the JubJub whose body is basically its head and the Hissi, for example.

I agree that it's either clothes or colors. And I like pets with different colors with different poses, even if painting pets is a bit expensive.

I think it would just look... wrong on some pets.
But if they aren't wearing clothes now... does that mean they're naked? :o

Clothing was probably the worst idea they've ever had. I hope they never implement something like this, unless it's an extremely simple thing, which doesn't detract from work on other things.

I'm a toy doll, wind me up on stage. Watch me dance, and feel my rage.

It does sound like an idea that could work if TNT had many more workers, a lot more time and more patience. Maybe in five years they'll pick this ancient idea out of their dusty filing cabinet and work on it.
But I doubt that. ;)
I remember when I was a wee little newbie 4 years ago I stocked up on clothes because TNT said that in the "very near future" our pets could wear clothes. 4 years later and I'm still waiting. Heh.

Why don't they just make a Clothed Neopet paint brush?

That's what Royal is for, silly.:P

I've never understood the fascination with adding clothes to your pets. It's kind of a given that your pet can wear anything they want. Let's add a pink hat to a blue kau and it'll be super special because it's wearing a hat! I'm with Winter, it's like asking for permission to wear socks.

No, you've been saying draw them on the pets., I'm talking about not drawing them on the pets but instead just having a table that shows what clojthes the pet is currently "wearing"

Oh, I see. But what fun is that? That's just like having them in the SBD.

I do not see how this could be that hard. Use image layering! Kinda like paper dolls. If an article of clothing's overlay is not designed in a way to look right on a pet type, then it'll say that it does not fit. Hats and scarves would be very easy. Everythign else can go be species and size.

If this site can do it, why not neopets?
