i think its a really bad idea. it would mean people could scam accounts, release the pets to their own account and then sell them back to the proper owner. sort of like neokidnapping. oh you laugh but it would happen <twitch> o_0

Sure there would. Say you have a secure way, but you could still trick a newbie. "This pet is going to retire soon, I would buy this one while you still can" or "It says this pet is only worth 5000np, but TNT din't factor in this, this and this, so send me a lab map, then I'll let you buy him"

And how is that ANY different than what scammers can do now? Or don't people get scammed in your universe? If you're over 13 you should know better, and if you don't by then you can report the scammer to TNT. My point is that it would benefit us without causing any more people than usual to get scammed. I can put up a starry paint brush plushie on the trading post and proclaim that it turns your pet starry. Nothing whatsoever prevents me from doing that, and there'd probably be some poor newbie who'd fall for and fork over their np. Does that mean that the trading post should be removed from the site because someone may fall for a scam? There's always going to be people who lie, cheat and scam, but that's why there are rules against it and punishments for those who break the rules.

People do that now though. Scammers get into accounts, and release the pet. Then you have to offer the new owner something to get your pet back.

I do wish there'd be a pet transferring method, I do not think it should be like this. I think it should be a pet trading post, where you put the actual pet up. Making it so people request? Many might accidentally click the wrong button.

I think users should be able to be allowed to Switch pets from one of their accounts, to another one of their accounts. Only accoutns with the same Email.

It's unfair for users who have three Faerie Pets spread over four accounts and can't get them all together for his or her Faerie Gallery account.

That's what I think we should be allowed to do. Then I'd have ALL the Halloween Pets

Ooh that's a nice idea. But then you're going to have people saying "I'll lend/give you my [insert expensive pet here] but you have to change your email to mailto:something@something.com".

As far as the pet trading post... Maybe it's just me, but I always figured TNT didn't want people buying/selling pets because it IS neoPETs after all, and pets should be the central focus, not just something to buy/sell/trade like items. But that's just my take on it.

I don't know why you've totally lost faith in Neopets. Just becuase it does what...? It has adverts. Well, guess what, so does PinkPT. Games are just a way of trying to target adverts. Just because they're trying to theme their adverts, so does everywhere else - They try to make ads more accessible. And I don't know why you're saying that the pets aren't the main theme any more, when all the items with a use are used for Neoepets...

I don't think there should be any NP involved, just a "give pet to neofriend" option. Sure, there would probably be scamming, but it's the person's own fault if they fall for a "send me a lab map and I'll transfer you my pet" scam -- and stuff like that goes on right now anyway. With a "give to neofriend" option, people could safely transfer pets to alternate accounts or to people they trust.

You could also have an account option to make your pets unbuyable, or block pet purchase requests. You know, like blocking guild invites.

I'm seeing a big possibility of increased pet stealings?

Hmmmm I think that TNT Could devise a method which will allow pets to be "sent" to an account by maybe a different password to authorise the transfer or another method :/

What if this option had it's own password protection?

Like, if you wished to enable pet transfers, you would need to create, then use a seperate password from the one you normally use. You might even use that same password for the pound. That way, you can password protect your pets to stop them from getting dumped in the pound or transferred to a scammer's account. This would stop account scammers in their tracks.

I would honestly think that a pet trading post would be a good idea. Where the users can buy other pets. What's so wrong about buying and selling pets? That way, if you have a very nice pet, but you couldn't keep it, you could put it up on the pet trading post. That way, you can ensure that it goes to a respectable owner, not some pound sitter, and even make a bit of NP from it.

And to stop the PTP from being overrun with level 1 Green Lennies, you could introduce a fee; maybe 5k to put a pet on the PTP.

With this system, things would work.
