If anyone is interested... i stopped labbing my pet and began the hard training right after you adviced me to do so in this topic.
Now my pet is level 59 and has 85 strength and 60 defence, and i even have 200k more than i began with (it seems like 13.5k per training is a really bad estimation... i almost always wiz-snipe codestones for low prices).

The bad thing is that the lab began to be generous with my other pet... you see, the lab was so mean to my battle pet and took him stats every day, and now it is giving away 2-3 strength points almost daily to my 2nd pet. Blah, where was this stat-increasing when i labbed my battle pet? ><

Anyway, when do you advice me to stop training and labbing my pet again? I know that sometime i'll have to do it...

I would just go with lab for 1 more week and then examine your results and see with a comparison, which one would be better! :D

This doesn't make sense.
If you'd only use the lab it will still take 2 defence
If you train besides labbing then at least you get 1 of the 2 lost defence points back. And next time maybe the lab will give you your 2 defence points back

I've been labbing my pet for about 2 or 3 years now and these are my stats:

Level : 12
Hit Points : 349 / 349
Strength : ULTIMATE (197)
Defence : demi-godly
Movement : EXCELLENT (50)
Intelligence : total genius (57)

I had the 200 strength boost at one point but lost it. Oh well. I defeated the Space Faerie which is all I care about.

What I mean is, say if you just trained 1 defence, when you zap and it takes 2 defence away, you'd have wasted 1 codestone worth of np. That's only if you were going to train and zap, which is quite bad. But anyway, you could still get your np back by the lab giving the 1 or 2 defence back! :)

Hey Pat, where are you and general nonsense going? I guess to the festivities of sophisticos!

No, sorry, you still wouldn't have wasted your codestone.
If you train 1 defence point and the lab takes two defence points away, you end up with 1 defence point less then you started with. Did you waste a training? Of course not, for if you hadn't trained you would have ended up with 2 defence points less then you started with.
Let's turn it around, say you first lose 2 defence points from the lab, and after that you train 1 defence point. Do you also think the training would be useless then?
It's all very easy if you look at things in the long run. The lab sometimes gives stat points, sometimes takes away, but I think on average it gives you one stat point per day. Training on higher levels also gives you about a stat point per day. So if you spend a year labbing and codestone training your pet you will end up with about twice as much stat points than when you only lab or only codestone train.
The codestones are never wasted.

Well the codestones are wasted if you had the choice not to zap ;) I zap every third day as a rule and the last time I got a stat decrease for that pet was *checks* two and a half months ago. So none of my codestones are ever wasted (or very rarely so), but if I zapped every day and lost stats I would consider that a waste of a codestone as I had the choice not to zap. I think that's what backupatrick was meaning - training versus training + labbing.

I really do think it depends on individual labs though, my three when I was using them all displayed very different behaviour and followed distinct patterns - my main one gave me several colour changes a month while my newest one (which I zap with every day) rarely takes stats away and gives me no colours - typical ¬_¬ When I labbed every day on my original lab my stats were not going up so fast as they are now *kicks lab*

I disagree with this. The way I see it, you would lose two points anyway, so you are still a point higher than you would have been.

Here's a thought. Since the effects of training strength and defence only occur above specific boost points, put your money in the bank ( or stocks, or whatever) and have it making you more money until you're ready to train up to the next boost- then train as often as you can until you get there.
