Explain to them how if the people who write garfield, and own his name, how neopets can have a lawsuit filed against them for publishing them on their site. :D

You know what REALLY gets me PO'd? i have a feeling that those comics, (and a few that were unreadable) probably bumped out some good ones, that should have been there instead, it's very onfair to those who have thought up an orignal comic, drawn it well, and then don't get in. TNT has really done it this time...

That first one with the Kyrii is so obviously a rip-off of that Garfield comic; I can't believe it got in. I would think someone who works for Neo would read Garfield, and notice the similarities in that comic. Not only that, I don't know how it would have been accepted over a few of the other entries, as it doesn't really have anything to do with Neopets in the first place, excluding the fact that a Kyrii is the main character in their version.
I think some people think that if they take ideas that 'worked' in newspaper comics, they'll have a better chance to get in the Neopian Times. That is, of course, a really unfair thing to do to the other writers who work hard on their comics, and to the people that made the original comic.

Here is a sample of Calvin and Hobbes for you.

As for the copied comic, I found it and it is below.

I feel that both comic copiers should have their trophies revoked and be banned from any future publications in the neopian times.

I was just about to post this an hour ago! The second I read both of them I realized that they were almost direct copies because I have almost all the C&H books and I get Garfield e-mailed to me everyday. Those users deserve to get frozen for doing that! At my school, that would get you a detention. Actually, someone I know DID get a detention for that.

I mean, if their art was OUTSTANDING, it might be excusable... but NOT that. Seriously. People like me spend a lot of their time making ORIGINAL comics that NEVER get in, and yet obvious plagarism is excused?!

I remember seeing this with a Baby Blues comic...I had just read it in the newspaper, and reading it in the Neopian Times was a double-take sort of thing for me. That was over a year ago, though. I can't remember what it was about.

People CONSTANTLY rip off Calvin and Hobbes, which drives me insane. Yes, these comics probably bumped out some original ones that were thought out and not just a copy of someone else's art. And that shouldn't be allowed. You'd think someone would have caught that.

*goes off to report them*

Whether their art is exceptional or not shouldn't have anything to do with it. Plagerism is plagerism. People whose art is amazing, and who do amazing things (such as copys of masters paintings) and then don't credit said masters are still thieves.
On top of this, insulting them isn't... *sighs* it's not exactly fair to insult their artwork. They're most likely young, and their art is probably where it should be for their ages.
I know it's hard to make original comics, and probably TNT thinks that those that are funny should get in. People will always slip through the cracks in such manners. Just because somethings the best, or somethings hillarious doesn't mean that it should get in. Neopets isn't dominated by professional cartoonists. It's dominated by preteens and teens. Therefore the quality of the work is going to be like that for the most part.
It's why I don't get into the gallery all the time. Might as well give someone else a chance, ya know? *winks*

The aforementioned comics have been removed from the Times. Just to let everyone know.

Sadly this is nothing new. I remember a while back, when I'd actually read all the comics, there was one whose pun was stolen off of Spongebob Squarepants.

I do feel these people deserve to be reported, if they can't get into the neopian times with their own work, they shouldn't be in there at all.

EDIT: Glad to hear they've been removed. :) Anyone check to see if their trophies are still there?
