Drat. I was hoping if it was retired after a day we could keep it without having to change shopkeepers forever, or whenever a shop update is done and you need to see your shop front.

Wait, so there's a new av that's easy to get...but if you ever look at your shopfront again, you lose it? That's dumb! That's not the shopkeeper I want for my shop or gallery, and I do, after I add stuff or change the background in my shop, go to the shopfront just to check things out.

Hmm, I don't think I'll bother. :P

It'll only be for a second, and if your willing to never look at your shop front in that account again, you can immediately put your old shopkeeper back on. ;)
