I don't participate in guilds, so obviously I wouldn't participate in a guild pool.

Interesting, why don't you particpate in guilds? Most guilds don't require donations...

Because I often forget they're there and apparently as we've seen on the Neoboards, talking to people often leads to FREEZING. :P

"sharing" in neopets (accounts, items..whatever) is always against the rules but never really enforced on players. what neopets is driving at is that if you share your neopian properties, you COULD be scammed. thus that rule exists to discourage rather than be enforced on players. if you can fully trust your guild mates/neofriends or is already mentally prepared to face the consequences of misplacing your trust, share by all means.

edit: on a sidenote, if you complain to neopets about losing your stuff for sharing, your case would probably be thrown out of the window.

if you sell the doll after the lending, are you going to give the NP back to the people who donated for it?

if not, i suggest you keep it in the guild donation shop as a gallery-priced item so no one accuses you of running off with it.

Actually I am not sure what we are doing with it next. I guess we might keep it to attract new members to the guild. If we sell it, the money will go back into guild funds.

the guild i'm in is fairly close knit... just amoung the dozen or so regulars, we've been able to raise enough to by items like that. Personally, I think I'm lucky to have found such a good group of people (considering my less-than-stellar beginnings).

Well, I'm not going to divide out the NP. I'm going to lend the doll to the trustworthy people, then sell it for a profit to pay for a noticeboard advert. Yes.

If everyone in your guild donated something to help pay for the FQD, then only lending it out to the people you consider "trustworthy" isn't fair at all. You're obligated to lend it to everyone who pitched in, otherwise you're screwing people out of their np.

This is why item pooling is a bad idea, because all a dishonest person has to do is invest a few thousand np, and they have the chance to make off with a huge profit.

I see what you mean. But I consider just about 100% of people who donated to be trustworthy, and I have known them a while. I'll lend it to the big donaters first, then the rest.

This all seems like a very complex thing, when it originally was just a way for people in the guild to get an avatar they would normally be able to get.
