Not bad money.

I've never figured out how to play krawps. Is it any good? the strat guide on pinkpt confuses me.

Seeing as I can't restockk very well I guess it'd be good to get into more games.

If you have any money at all I highly recomend investing in the stock market. It is a patience game and I wouldn't recomend starting unless you have at leeast 50k. But I recently hit the 1million mark and all of it is tied into the stock market. If you go over to the neodaq site, people there are reporting profits of 1 mil a month after about a year of solid investing.

Edit: I realize I didn't say much about inflation. Yes I do believe it is rampant. Yes I would like to see the staff do something to reduce inflation. And yes I am still hitting myself over the head for not buying every paintbrush I could see a year and 1/2 ago. But that doesn't mean I can't start today. *pats the currently buyable MPs in her SDB*

I'm finally back for the summer, although hopefully I'll spend a little more time away from this screen.

Krawps takes some time to learn, and there's a chance of losing big as well as winning big. The key is to set yourself a minimum amount of NPs on hand - go below that, and quit playing for the day.

I go solely by the PPT stratguide. You have to read it while playing, though - you can't just read it, then go play without looking back at the guide from time to time.

If you're good at most games, then you can make at least 5k a day.

Items inflate because of fake infations on the neoBoards, avatars from them, or rarity.

I remember the total lab set once cost 75k for a full set if youwere lucky (like me), and then after the lab ray scientist and the pwned by the lab ray avatar, it inflated to a huge 600k.

Yes, when I started playing around 2 years ago, I bought a white paint brush for 1k. Sad thing is, I used it and now they're UB. Back then on Neopets I was a newbie and didn't do much except play some games and earning around 300np a day??? Inflation is very annoying and fustrating when you didn't buy something when they were extremely cheap and now they're worth tons more but that's part of the challenge of the game. I'm a pretty good Rser so I don't play many games so I dunno which games are good
-.-

I have to agree with shapu. I absolutely SUCK at games, but can make a good 15k-20k a day off them if I have patience and play them. I don't think I ever use my shop unless I get a really good random event item. Restocks have been pretty useless to me as a whole and though I'm not hugely rich (3 mill.)..I've made a pretty good neopian living for myself almost completely due to playing games.

The inflation is getting a little ridiculous. I remember finding a Christmas paint brush a few years back and selling it for 4k..now..god only knows how much they are and remember when codestones were going for 500 nps?

I think inflation is due to a combination of things - alot more people on the site, alot of people with high speed who can (unlike most of us on dial up) restock, general supply and demand, the lowered np/score ratio on many games, limited number of high rarity items and yes, the biggest thing in my opinion is retiremet of items ad especially Avatars.

I mean, even omelettes are aroud 20np ... I know that's nothing, but they used to be 5 to 10 np. Then came the PackRat av and many "junk" 1np items went up. (Yes, I do have that av - but then again, I should have that one in real life, I'm such a pack rat). Unfortunately, I don't think anything in my SDB is worth all that much - I just have alot of it!

Then the orange grundo av - orange pb prices went through the roof. TP went super high for the mutant av ... I was lucky to get a korbat TP for I think around 20k for that one - I had planned on making that pet a mutant korbat anyway.

I just wish I'd held onto my faerie pb longer ... boy would my gallery get a boost if I still had that and sold it for today's prices. I might even be able to finally get that darned rainbow evil fuzzle I need (that's retired and costs close to a mil!)

I highly doubt the veracity of that statement. I think more people are on broadband than on dialup.

What I meant by that is that it appears from my own attempts and talking to other people who are still on dial up, that restocking is, to say the least, extremely difficult on dial up - just waiting for the picture to load for the haggling stage can take too long.

Probably there are many more people using some form of high speed. However, there are still quite a number of people who are, for whatever reason, still using dial up. For me? I simply cannot afford the extra $$ that high speed would cost, as I'm on a fixed income.

I bought a Faerie pb for 200k when it've just been retired. Now its price is about 800k I don't wanna sell it yet! ;)

1 year ago:

Full Lab Map: ~ 275k
Codestone: ~ 4k (except Lu ~ 3k)
Treasure Map: 8k - 15k
Spooky Map: 5k - 8k
Faerie: 3.5k (except Air and Light 3k)
...

I can understand the frustration of people who can't restock. I started out on Neopets on dialup too, but I still managed to make my first 2 million without restocking. I am now paying for my high-speed connection with my annual scholarship allowance ;)

But definitely, inflation is making it harder for non-restockers to buy stuff. But at least TNT is attempting to make restocking fairer, like imposing restock bans and having the 5-second per purchase rule.

Heeeee I bought my Full Lab Map when it was 100k. I can't believe it's come up that much.

besides what had been mentioned, the main reason contributing to the big inflation in high rarity item is the announcement that they would stock less often..leading to high inflation overnight. the change in restock system to make it fairer for players doesn't help either. i remembered when there was a time when i have to haggle down the price of a hasee i restock way below 100k to make a significant profit. now they are close to 3m because they have supposedly become "rarer". hence, as more items can be sold for millions, it means they are suddenly more overnight millionaires who are more willing to pay inflated price for the item they desire. it's a vicious cycle. neopoints are arguably much easier to earn now but the value of neopoints also decrease accordingly.

as for paintbrushes, blame the hidden tower partly. the appearance of paintbrushes that cost over a million to buy in the HT (namely darigan and royal) just set a new benchmark for paintbrush inflators gleefully and newer players just become accustomed to paying millions for a paintbrush.

ahh the good ol' days... spent 70k to paint my jetsam speckled... now nearly 200k...

codestones at 3k-4k... :)
lab map only 200k when i bought it...
faeries for bout 3k...
the games paid out much more than now, but that's not counting much of "prices", more of currency :p
